Friend of mine went last night and has given very positive feedback. Said quite a few of the audience were in costume and the queue for merch was long but it always is for a new show isnt it. As he knows I'm going he has not given much away though.

I agree it's the logical choice but only reason I doubted that is Mr B is adamant they dont want the dominion Two things... 1) prince of Egypt may not close and could extend I would think it if gets good reviews and starts sell 2) Back to the Futire may want to come in sooner than later to retain their cast. If they wait until March of 2021, the actors may get other gigs. Manchester is done in May which means the cast couldn't commit to another long run if they are doing Back to the Future. Oh is agree and that was my point, I'd imagine it does want to come in sooner but I cant think where would be available

I would imagine all of this is very much planned-in and the cast have been contracted. The production has just opened. I find it hard to believe they’re flailing around looking for suitable London theatres. This has been in the making for years.

As a big BTTF fan, I must ask, is Einstein in this? I'm pretty sure in that thing that was on the news the other day they said that he isn't.

I'm seeing tomorrow's matinee so I'm glad it seems to be getting quite positive word of mouth. I read on here about Mary Poppins {Spoiler - click to view} Flying out over the audience
before seeing it and it kind of ruined the moment for me, so even though I've seen the film I'm trying to avoid anything spoilery for this.

An absolute tragedy, I refuse to go to this until a dog has been employed. Now my ticket is for the 13th of May so they have until then or else I refuse to go!

Ve just booked a second visit later in the run. Not even seen the first one yet! I’m a complete sucker for lighting effects and projections. From what’s being said on Twitter this is packed full of them. I’m excited and I’ve never seen the film!
I recall Bat went very quiet towards the end of its 12 weeks and there were tickets a-plenty although I don’t remember it discounting in the way &Juliet did.

If they can’t get the theatre they want- they will open this in New York next spring.

This seems like a great fit for the Dominion, and given the early reviews for PRINCE, it will be free just in time. What theater are they really after?

I could be completely wrong here but from what I’ve heard here before, they want either the Savoy or the Adelphi, but Dolly’s in the Adelphi and there’s something else we don’t know about yet going into the Savoy (apparently).

I've booked one of the £19.55 Circle tickets. I just hope the view isn't too restricted. After seeing all the set design pictures posted on here, I've got high hopes for this production. Looking forward to tomorrow afternoon.

The Adelphi seems the perfect venue for it.
The Savoy just seems wrong in both size and style

I don't think the Adelphi will be free for them in March/April, as i'm pretty sure DOLLY was given the option to extend (TBD at a much later date). So opening a year later in the West End will kill all the buzz and just seem strange. The Savoy also sounds like a very bad choice. We're left with the Dominion..

I assumed Mean Girls would go to the Adelphi. Dominion is most likely for this show I think.

It wouldnt surprise me if Mean Girls is on the back burner. It's grosses have gone down hill on broadway quite quickly
I guess the Prince Edward could be an option if Mary Poppins follows a similar trajectory to Miss Saigon

The Savoy is way too small. I’d say the Adelphi is more likely but would require a wait until mid March as I imagine Hello Dolly won’t extend since Imelda Staunton has other commitments

Yes they are also looking at the Savoy. Many shows are looking at the Adelphi including Mrs Doubtfire

If the “special effect” is in fact what people said it is, then that explains why TheTwinsFX are involved - the same company who create the stunning effects for the Palladium Panto

I often wonder which shows came close to opening in London but just missed out. I suspect that a lot of shows don’t see the light of day purely based on the limitations of theatre suitability and availability. Like Groundhog Day who were pipped to the Adelphi and then have presumably gone quiet again. Right place right time syndrome.

Does anyone reckon I'd make the 22:34 train from Deansgate after the show or is that too late?

I'm staying overnight in Manchester. Even with a 7:30 start time I didn't think I'm make a train back to London and would just enjoy a Friday night in Manchester.
