Is there a set day for the Alternate Marty and Alternate Doc? Pretty sure it's Mondays, potentially still sundays. Recently saw it on a sunday but had Ben and Cory rather than Elliot and Stephen, so it can vary.

Cast change is in August, isn’t it? Are there any casting rumours? Surely Ben will move on from the show now.

Does anyone know if there has been any changes to the show since it started? I saw it not long after it had begun, and then again yesterday. There were bits I did not recall (That could just be my memory) and one song I thought had taken place in another scene.

I think there were changes made during the Manchester run, but I couldn’t tell you what. There were also a couple of line changes after it opened on Broadway.

There were some changes made at the first cast change before broadway the start of act one tightened up mostly from what I remember. The song with the family was cut a bit and the love duet cut down a bit too I also feel the end of act one song may have gotten slightly shorter but I may be making that up.

BTTF is a really well-oiled machine that would be hard to majorly change. Since it's been at the Adelphi the only thing that's changed are one or two lines. The majority of the changes happened in the transfer between Manchester and London, tightening up a few things. I think the runtime was slightly cut down.

Some of the scene changes elide more with longer instrumentals plus quite a few lyric changes when Broadway opened.

God I forget this is even on 😂 Honestly, me too! I barely hear anyone talking about it anymore...
With about 30-20% seats unsold even on the night, I'm expecting this to be the next West End casualty, as sad as that is. I call it the "recent shows that have been at the Winter Garden" curse...!
I think they need to work out how they're gonna tour this thing. That's where the show is gonna have to go next with hopes to survive... In all fairness, it has had a pretty good run!

Is it on tour in the States yet? I realise moving it from Manchester to London isn’t exactly touring, but it’s clearly doable for lengthy stays. This will make an absolute killing on tour so I bet they’ll be out on the road the second this stops turning a profit.

Yes, I think the US tour recently started, which was announced and put together quick to support the Broadway production.
Usually by now they'd announce an extension for this, booking until the 22nd December, which makes me think we'll be seeing this out soon, and a tour in 2025. Which sucks... but this show has run a while. Something new has got to go to the Adelphi.
Would make sense business-wise to shut at Christmas, prep for a tour, go out for Summer 2025. I'd love to see it locally.

Our hotel was next to the Winter Gardens in October and there was always a healthy crowd going in, and always a hectic stage door too. So many backpacks.

Yeah, it had a great audience in the latter half of last year. That was when it last peaked. I don't know if it has recouped yet though, I know on Broadway the last time I checked it has to get a million to break even, and it's been floating around that for a while but is on the steady downward. But it is doing fine. Obviously no WE grosses but I would assume it has recouped here and is more about the "can it run each week" game.

I heard some tourists saying how empty the Adelphi when they saw the show earlier that week.

Perhaps Burlesque could take the Adelphi if its as competent as some have said?

BTTF recouped in the UK a long while ago, partly due to the investment model used by the producers where they leveraged against their own franchise/assets. They can afford to run London on a narrow profit margin if required hence why average seat prices are down over 1/3 compared to a couple of years ago. Not sure how much life is left in it though.

My first post, I usually just lurk so be kind 😁 Just saw the Adelphi post regarding an announcement tomorrow morning. The hints are all ghost, but seeing as the last tour got cancelled I’m surprised this is potentially going back into the west end?

Could possibly be a concert of the show that will be staged at the Adelphi on a night BTTF isn’t on.

Possibly with the original cast since Caissie Levy is in town. They would not announce a West End run before BTTF even make a closing announcement.

Ghost is a tour, I don't think it's replacing BTTF.
Whatever goes into the Adelphi needs to be another show that can consistently sell a theatre of its size.
It also needs to compete with Mean Girls and SIX literally down the road.

I didn’t realise they had announced another tour, the one I was referring to was in 20 or 21 I think. I don’t think this musical lends itself to a concert version myself.
