Flying car effects are pretty much sorted now aren’t they? I’ve seen loads on YouTube where the auditorium blacks out, a shunkly light gets bounced around and the car flies over the audience with no visible wires or anything. Elf did something similar with the sleigh at the end.
For those prices they need to get some of that money on stage.

Video online of Olly Dobson singing The Power of Love and he sounds sensational.
Never seen the film so know nothing about it but very excited about this.
If only I'd known what a stunning voice he had when he was in the Bat ensemble. Can't remember if he understudied (or went on as) any of the leads....

He must have been on at some point?

He went on many times for both of them. I saw him as Jagwire in Manchester (actually the first time I saw the show) but missed him as Ledoux completely until he came back as emergency cover while Gio was on X Factor. He has a fabulous voice, I'm so pleased for him getting BTTF. I can imagine he'll be wonderful.

The biggest cheer of the night is going to be for the appearance of the car!

This is gonna be an absolute cheese-fest and I can't wait! Calling it now Power of Love will be the playout music.

Kudos to ATG. My ticket for the show turned up today. Can’t complain with that level of customer service.

Joseph take note -
Rehearsals haven’t even started and the vocals are brilliant!
Just saying!

I saw him as Jagwire and didn’t feel he was right for the part at all - he was rather eclipsed by Danielle Steers.
This seems to suit him a lot better and I’m looking forward to it in Manchester. Though what we’re hearing here is a presumably a produced studio recording, so comparisons to last night’s Joseph aren’t really appropriate

I like his vocal but it made me realise it’s a really really pedestrian song.

Any thoughts on a West End venue? When Ghost played the Opera House it transferred a month later to the Piccadilly, which would seem like a good sized venue for this too. I know they were originally planning on the Dominion but that would mean waiting until at least October 2020 to bring the transfer in.

Moulin Rouge is already booked into the Piccadilly ... this was only destined for the Dominion when Jamie Lloyd was directing. The current team only agreed to do it if it *didnt* go to the Dominion.

I wish he was till directing. I'd be a lot more confident it will be good.

Better be some good choreography cause that chorus gets a bit repetitive quickly..

Which seems like madness to me as the theatregoer, wanting big and flashy, and a grand scale. Imagine the size of the LCD screens they’d need... ...but total common sense to me the manager of a business. Bat, and to a lesser extent WWRY made money from repeat business and premium seating for affluent middle aged rockers. BTTF would have a much wider/cheaper appeal. I suspect that turning a profit in such an enormous house is a nightmare.
