Is it just the seat count that draws shows to the Adelphi? It’s not particularly comfortable and the front of house areas don’t make a lot of sense. Maybe they offer a good deal. I suppose that cluster of Adelphi/Savoy/Lyceum/Vaudeville do offer another area to explore but I always struggle to eat anywhere interesting around there. I hope it brings lots of trade their way and helps bolster the reopening of theatreland. Struggle to eat? In central London! Hahah.... Intelligent input as ever. I think the Strand lacks variety ‘food-wise’. We aren’t all blessed with your internal Michelin guide...🙄

I always go somewhere in the side streets around Covent Garden or on St Martin's Lane if I am going to the Adelphi or any of the other theatres around there.

Surely the great Marge only goes to dine at the Savoy with her fabulous celebrity friends.
I think there's plenty to choose from in the side streets though, I quite like the cluster of places towards Covent Garden. And of course there's Joe Allen, but I find it rather overpriced for what's available.

I’d love to be seen falling out of Joe Allen just before my matinee goes up but I’m not really wanting a very average burger sitting heavy for the next 3 hours. Recommendations are welcome or I’ll just end up in the TGIF in Bedford Street necking potato skins and spicy chicken chunks ( has it survived COVID? I do hope so).washed down with dubious amounts of Rocks Margaritas ( golden obvs).

It has to be Rules on Maiden Lane, surely? Go via Bull Inn Court and you'll be following in the footsteps of Brian Blessed's forefathers.
Or there's always Pizza Hut! 🙂

Yea considering the present situation it may be best to wait and see what survives until next summer That said, I'd probably choose TGIF, too, if I was with company and wouldn't just grab a baguette from Pret.

There's a Real Greek a couple of doors down from the theatre, that's usually a good shout.

Fishfinger butty and a pint at that pub next to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Marquess of Something or other. Possibly not “interesting” enough though 🙂

Don't understand the dissatisfaction with dining options in and around The Strand.
McDonalds*, two Subways, Greggs, Co-op, Tesco and Sainsbury's; all an upmarket theatre-goer like me could wish for.
* and now there are Triple Cheeseburgers and Double QuarterPounders with Cheese for that extra special occasion....

Putting Dan's difficult to please tastebuds to one side for a moment, could someone please remind me if Back to the Future ever officially opened in MCR, or was it still in previews?.

Dragged up! 😂 I like a nice Bento box, or Bone Daddies/Shak-fu-yu type thing or loads of places in Soho. I think the nicest thing I ever had on the Strand was a Zizzi’s and the positives came from the ‘far too much’ fizz before ‘Kinky Boots’. It certainly numbed the pain, (before I grew to kind of like it.) ...and just to keep it on topic I booked two Dress Circle seats for the first matinee, on the lovely Viserys’ advice.

Possibly not “interesting” enough though 🙂 Theres actually a really good diner type place opposite Drury Lane that does excellent hot dogs. I just wouldn’t walk that way if I was going to the Adelphi. ...and I’d always be there for a fish finger butty.

anyone else struggling to redeem their vouchers from the manchester run? I can't get the price deducted from the London price. A phone call in the morning me thinks.

Do you mean Bodeans, next to the Japanese place with the permanent queue? And thanks, mrbarnaby. I don't remember there being much of a buzz in that case.

Was BTTF always going to go to the Adelphi or was the production eyeing up other venues too?

I was supposed to see this show back in April in Manchester. But I'm glad its coming to London next year. Will definitely make my postponed London/Paris trip next August since I booked my tickets for that August. I'm from Miami and it'll be my first time in London. I definitely want to experience the Indian cuisine in London since 2nd to India the UK is the top place for Indian cuisine. Any suggestions on where I can get Indian food? Doesn't have to be close to the Adelphi.

Expensive Indian is found in Dishoom there is a branch on St martins lane. Their chai comes with free refills and is delicious.
Further out has better options but everyone has their favourite place and you could get 99 answers from 45 people. Brick lane still has several places that are good and is worth a visit. Unfortunately we don’t know which will survive to next year.
Hope you have a great visit.

There's some good upper circle seats being sold for £22.85 on ToadyTix if you hurry. Would recommend using Seatplan. Thanks for the heads-up. Stalls too on the dates I quickly looked at, including Row A.

To anyone who has seen this would someone sitting at the extreme end of the front row likely miss any big moments at the back? Would one take the lower or higher numbered seat
