Pricing also rising from September to £90 for Saturdays but given lottery and new special rates there are some discounts emerging…worth it still in the week still…

I'll probably never see this show now. £39.50 is too much for what it appears to be - a plucky fringe-style show that took off. Thing is, it feels they've played on that 'plucky fringe-style' vibe for the cache of underdog status - yet there isn't much 'underdog' about their pricing. It's not Sondheim, it's not 'Hamilton', it's not 'Evita' - I'm not convinced it's going to rock my world or change my perceptions of where musical theatre can go, and for their prices, it needed to. I'll see it in 5 years time when its licensed and exactly the same production values can be achieved by amateurs.

It is an excellent show and I would still strongly recommend everyone try and see it (on Mondays...) but £90 for the upper circle at the Fortune is a joke. I hope they (the production company, not the cast) feel ashamed.

Thursday went up from £59.50 to £69.50 some weeks ago. Difficult to be pleased by the extensions when every time it extends it becomes less affordable.
I was hoping to see the show again next week, to catch an understudy on, but Monday & Tuesday are sold out, I'm not prepared to pay the prices of the rest of the week, and I've just failed to win the lottery, so it looks like I won't be seeing it next week.

Totally agree. I'd love to see it again, but at these prices it's not going to happen. Even if I could make a Monday evening, these £39.50 tickets are going to be incredibly difficult to come by. And even that is too much for the back of the upper circle! |

Some bloggers going into meltdown about how great it has Mincemeat has launched a loyalty scheme. Except it's not. They've basically introduced a group booking discount for smaller groups of 6 only available to those who've been to the show before.
A loyalty scheme would be £20 off if you've been three times and without the need to bring five friends to claim it.
Shameful pricing, shameful fraudulent loyalty scheme. It'll be glowsticks next.

Yes, I got briefly excited by the mention of a loyalty scheme, only to quickly realise when I saw the details that it's absolutely no use for someone like me who does 99% of my theatregoing solo. Realistically, how many people are there who can round up a group of 5 others to come with them to see a show multiple times?

"You have your orders!!" The final words on the Loyalty Tix page. I don't care how 'themed in' it's supposed to be, the substance also puts the audience in a subservient position ....
LOYALTY TIX
You only "apply" for the loyalty rate, and will get an email code "if you(sic) application is successful".
They Require you to say how many times you've seen the show at the current venue. Are they going to check if this is true? What if you came before on tickets bought in a friend's name?
FAMILY TIX
You can come as a group of 6 people to qualify for the £10 off each ticket. But....
"A minimum of 3 members of your party must be family members within the same household.
PLEASE NOTE: Each member of your party must bring photo ID clearly featuring your home address to the Box Office on collection of your tickets to verify eligibility".
So let's imagine 2 parents come along (1 address) inviting each of their grown up children and partner (2 more different addresses), this booking of 6 people wouldn't qualify even though 4 of them are direct family.
Is this a joke?

Oh dear, why are they so determined to make things difficult. I was half hoping for dynamic pricing to kick in for Fri/Sat since we're so far into the run now, but a price increase, of all things?!

People on here do realise theatre is a business that needs to make money? Of course, but take a look at the theatre landscape, and come back to me with another show that's doing what they're doing... This is not me having a go at you, I'm just unbelievably frustrated at how hard they're making it to support this show. It all comes back to the fact that their lead producer is not used to producing musicals, and is used to stand up where the blanket pricing works. |

What's that got to do with a loyalty scheme that isn't a loyalty scheme and the most ridiculous pricing structure? No one says they shouldn't make money but charging £90 for the best seat AND the worst seats is a nonsense. |

I no longer want to. Fine - that's business. Getting audience members to enthusiastically pull a party booking together to see a show is obviously a very traditional marketing tactic. I've never seen it made so complicated in its process though. I don't possess a single piece of photo ID that also has my address on it. Even if I did, the chances of all members of a group of 6 seat holders having that is minimal, and the ridiculous fuss requiring people to bring Driving Licences, or try and bring Passport plus a Utility Bill and hope that will clear the high-jump is a nice way to infantalise your audience and put their paperwork at security risk on what's supposed to be a fun night out. People on here do realise that poor treatment of ticket buyers, and a cynical scheme that gets the twitter fanboys/girls celebrating (free publicity) but collapses on exposure to daylight isn't great in a business that needs to make money. |
