I really hope they invite Gina Murray to reprise her role as Velma from the last tour. She did such a great job in a so-so role.

I am definitely in the minority here but I would rather not have to listen to Sandra Marvin's nasal singing again - saw her once in London and once on tour and wasn't impressed by her singing. Her acting was fine. I also saw Johnnie Fiori as Motormouth Maybelle and thought her voice was much stronger.

Maybelle really gets THE best song in the entire show in my opinion. I've never seen a reaction quite like Marisha Wallace in Dreamgirls there was something so special about her rendition of And I'm Telling you the night I seen her and I would kill to see her in this if she doesn't plan to stay in Waitress. I can certainly see Marisha in the role to be honest, she has really made a name for herself since Dreamgirls. Would she be too young tho, given that Motormouth is a mother? Judging by what people have been saying, I’m not sure if Waitress will still be around by April but even if it is, cast change would’ve probably happened by then. I’d personally love to see Brenda back. She was fab on tour and I think it’d be great for her to have in the west end and in the original production. |

Marisha can play any role in my opinion. She's definitely one of the best I think I've ever seen on stage.

Wash your mouth out with soap! I'd love to see Motormouth legend Sandra Marvin come back, and there probably is enough time for her to be written out of Emmerdale but seems unlikely. Beverley would be fabulous, and I'd put my name down to see Sharon D Clark have a bash at it too. I would like to see Sharon in something with a happy ending! |

Just thinking about casting. I don't know if the dates clashed now that 9 to 5 has extended, but they could potentially cast either Amber Davies or Natalie McQueen as Amber/Penny?
