Manchester just released a £20 ticket offer with a code for Tuesday to Friday shows. Cheapest ATG theatrecard ticket £15 early in the week.

I saw it on Monday in Leicester. Enjoyed it a lot, but could have been better. Great concept, ideas and music. Wonderfully entertaining to watch but the concept ran out of steam not that long into Act II and lost a lot of focus.
Also we had sound issues at Curve which meant I missed most of the lyrics on the big rocky numbers. Such a shame.
Spirited performances though and very glad I got to see it.

I saw it on Monday in Leicester. Enjoyed it a lot, but could have been better. Great concept, ideas and music. That seems to be the issue at most venues, the 'plot' has to be progressed via the song lyrics and when you can't hear those, it all seems a bit of a mess? It certainly was like that last night in Manchester. I saw this originally on the first UK tour and it was substantially better, the staging was impressive and dramatic and the cast uniformly brilliant, this time I was a lot less impressed. The music is great and some of the performances were 'OK' but the lead was too weak and as for Amelia Lily, she has zero stage presence, what the hell was she doing with her hands in the number where she is angry with Jimmy, bad bad actress, you don't need to turn your hands into claws to show angst or anger! |

Confirmed to be returning to the Arts Theatre in London again... this time from July 13, 2016 through September 25, 2016.
Starring Newton Faulkner as Johnny and Amelia Lily once again as Whatsername. Yah - Loved it at the Arts!!
I plan to go again and get front row centre seats again!!
Really enjoyed this musical, staging and the music is brilliance! Will miss Aaron Sidwell who was a delight and wonder last year.

Saw this in Manchester having not seen much about it and found it disappointing. Great songs (from a non green day fan here) but the muddled sound, not being able to make out lyrics and poor acting made it a real let down.
And I'm sure it's just me but the story feels like a childish tantrum based on nothing. With the songs and backdrop it seemed like a rich bed of content to make a statement about the world and it just fell flat.
Quite a shame. Glad it wasn't expensive ;-)

Saw this tonight at a not exactly full Kings.
Mmmmm. A dreadful sound mix means a lot of the lyrics in the more bombastic numbers are lost and there seemed to be several mic drop outs, including the third line of the first song.
Story wise its an exceptionally slight piece that doesnt actually say anything - it doesnt know what it wants to be, is it anti-war? is it anti-drugs? is it anti-anything at all? Characters flit in and out of the story and move from point A to point B but they dont appear to be doing it for any reason, things just happen so we can get to the next relevant song rather than in a natural progression.
As a juke box musical its far more WWRY than Jersey Boys.
Casting wise it was Newton Faulkner as the lead tonight and as an actor he makes no impression at all. His descent and rise again from the drug addiction should be harrowing, instead its like watching a Newton Faulkner gig where he has turned up in some hip clothes in an attempt to look cool.

I know a lot more Green Day songs than I thought I did but I dont like this enough to recommend it.

Was there in Glasgow last night too. Agree with most of your review. I had the added sound problem of an air-conditioning unit on nearly all the 1st act and then during the musical numbers in the 2nd. 5/10

Hello. I am trying to book tickets to see this show, but am a bit unsure about the front row view. Different sites say the front row is restricted by the height of the stage, while others say it is fine.
My girlfriend is rather short (5ft), and so we always try and get seats at the front to prevent her getting stuck behind someone tall. Obviously if the stage is as high as some people make out, this may be just as bad an issue - can anyone advise?
I've been on Seatplan.com and they have reviews and photos of each seat, but again it varies by user. One thing they do agree on is neck craning at times, and a slightly restricted view if there are props near the front of the stage. Can anyone who's seen this before let me know if there are any times in this show where this is the case?

All the action right up close, lots of eye contact and well maybe a little bit of spit as it really is that close!!!
