Perhaps the YV could bring it back in a year or so a la Follies.
Opera and Ballet companies do it all the time
I would rather sit in the YV rather than the expensive West End

I'm quite gutted that it's not imminently going to return, didn't manage to catch a repeat show in the end despite a lot of trying. It's always a shame when stuff of genuine quality (although as above I'm obviously just saying that because that's what I'm "supposed to say") doesn't have the commercial appeal to transfer. Meanwhile Thriller Live! lives on. What a world.

I'd be surprised if it didn't considering the critical acclaim, ticket sales and the potential of future success given the right theatre.

Well I hope they don't transfer it for a long run (mainly because I don't want it clogging up the theatre when better stuff could go in) but no wonder you all want it to move to the Garrick, they'll have to discount the sh*t out of it. There'll be more cheap seats than full price ones!
Let's hope it does a bit better than the last Young Vic show to transfer to the Garrick.... Ouch.

There are now no theatres free until the New Year, except for the Gielgud which is dark after 22nd Dec, as good as January in real terms. Delayed transfers becoming more usual due to lack of theatre availability - Mary Stuart and Caroline, or Change to give two examples. I can't see this touring though. |

I saw it in NYC and loved it more than Hamilton.The Public Theatre is such a gift.I think from the clip that Jenna I heard will get the Olivier. For a risky show it did quite well. Not as well as one hoped. It won the Tony and that must mean something. I loved both Hamilton and Fun Home.
I felt Fun Home while it had good writing needed a little more to get the Pulitzer

No not at this point, it's too late to announce etc, I suspect a March previews/opening. They can use the Olivier nominations as a great source of promo by that point, as well as the reviews and press. |

The intention had, of course, been for it to cross the Thames and they spent a lot redesigning it to be End-on staging for that reason/hope, as it could have easily played in the square at the YV as in New York.
A shame as I think more people would have liked to haveseen it, but the producers didn't think the pick up would have been enough to sustain it, even in a limited run, at West End costs.

It's a shame it's not transferring but, if there a silver-lining it should be exciting that a show about a lesbian cartoonist has been produced so much and that the general public has embraced it.
