I think Fun Home will end up getting its premium are someone like the Donmar if it goes to London, but its highly likely that a regional theatre will pick it up first

Baz said that Dear Evan Hansen will transfer for sure, it's not "if", it's "when", so... They're trying to do Next To Normal in Spain, so I don't know why UK is having trouble transfering the musical tbh I can't see Fun Home in UK anytime soon, BUT maybe in a future... why not? Apparently, Waitress is currently looking for a theatre, idk if it's true or not PS: Am I the only one here who thinks that Something Rotten should be in London already?

PS: Am I the only one here who thinks that Something Rotten should be in London already? Wouldn't it be fun if it ran at the Globe?

Oh I do hope so. I always loved it. Can Pat Sharp sing when he doesn't have Mick with him though?

How do you know this? Guido Balzaretti! He said back in... October (I think?) that Next To Normal would be opening in Spain this year, but now that he is in "El Ascensor" I don't know if it's still a plan or not... and of course he would be playing Gabe (which is 100% okay because he was my dream cast for Gabe in Spain... along with Julia Möller and David Ordinas as Diana and Dan -though they're still young so idk...- and Laura Enrech or Lydia Fairen as Natalie)

I have major doubts Dear Evan Hansen will transfer to London. I find Baz more reliable when it comes to casting rather than actual production scoops. At any rate, it's way too early to predict this, especially given that Tony season didn't start yet, and it didn't even embark on its US tour. Most of these productions will handle expansion domestically before international.
I think Waitress has the most likelihood to transfer simply because it is very safe. Though I can't find fault in any of it really, I think Brits will find it much easier to relate to and grasp, and it's certainly within the realm of drama/comedy that the audiences in the UK will be familiar and comfortable with.
I have a huge issue with this obsession with transfers. It speaks volumes of the faith local audiences have with British shows, that DO exist and ought to be given a commercial chance in London. Flowers for Mrs Harris, and if we really want a show about a teen coming of age story, then Everybody's Talking About Jamie is a great choice.
The thing about American shows it that I might agree they could be better crafted and produced at times, but I feel that the gist of it is that that they are probably better funded and marketed. The reason why there is such interest in American shows (by theatre fans, specifically, because no one in London has heard of Dear Evan Hansen unless they follow the musical theatre scene closely) is because they have easy access be it to the cast recordings, promotional video footage is more abundant, and there is more media generated around them. Solid regional tryouts though seem to die slowly and disappear into obscurity because of the lack of funding that would enable them to have a run in London, let alone promote and generate early advance or interest prior to their arrival.

Out of all the things I was not expecting, I think I was expecting that the least! Good work whoever is responsible at the Young Vic. Excited to get a chance to see it.

My heart has just filled up with joy. I was in awe when I saw this in New York, cannot wait to see it again, in what will be a great space for the piece!
