Thought I'd start some rumours by pointing out that Sonia Friedman Productions have retweeted Baz's tweet about this!

We've already clarified it's not competing against Hamilton, it will be the year after. It should win based on merit alone as it's one of the best musicals of the century, but it's not undeniable like Hamilton and the Oliviers can be weird so let's see. Excited and nervous to see who they cast for this. The original cast was so perfect, especially Cerveris, Sydney Lucas and Beth Malone. My mind springs to Lara Pulver for adult Alison for some reason.

Oh good for him, smart idea keeping away from the Hamilton hype in terms of public interest!

Co-pro with Sonia Friedman, so expect a transfer if it does well at the Young Vic. I believe they're working with the same model they used for The Scottsboro Boys, i.e. the run at the YV largely funded by a commercial producer who then gets first dibs on a west end transfer.

Which west end theatre could house it though? In the round?

Which west end theatre could house it though? In the round? The only time it has been done "In the round" was on Broadway. The original production, and the subsequent tour is standard proscenium. If it does transfer with SFP producting I'd expect it at one of the smaller playhouses (Pinter, Duke of York, Apollo, Playhouse) and probably (initially) for a 3-4 month run.

It's been stated it's likely not a replica of the Broadway show so could be staged in any format.

Although I have heard of the show I did not know the music. (Well seems I did know one song) so had a sample listen in iTunes and I'm well up for seeing this show now. Great music.

I saw in a huge theatre in Cleveland, Ohio. Really enjoyed the show but it suffered being in a large auditorium. The show was just not big enough to work at that level.

Our local theatre (well, here we do it theater) is beautiful. But 3100 seats so we will probably have the same issue. It's because of this board (found it while researching upcoming July vacation in London) that I signed up for my first season subscription just last week. Here is the link it: www.ppacri.org/about.

Watched Dumb and Dumber last night and they r from RI! I don't think we will ever live that one down. From Providence too. We are a proud little state. My favorite RI historical fact is that when RI was founded in 1636 (late by your standards) it was based, not only on freedom of religion but also freedom FROM religion.

Would absolutely love to see Jenna in this, when the material she is working with is right she can knock every single performance right out of the park (look at me with sporting terminology! I feel so masc right now!)
