Booked through the official website and got my confirmation email straight away. Spam folder maybe? Otherwise worth dropping them a line I'd say.

Anyone have a delay in getting e mail confirmation after booking via the official website? I booked this morning and still nothing through. Luckily made a note of reference number but usually when buy something online get instant confirmation. Mine took a good few hours to arrive.

Curious, what was the original set like? With the same venue, are we assuming a new set design or was the original really effective?

If I recall, a lot of it was done on a near empty stage, with trucks coming on with different location sets on them, one of them being lots of bed bunks. Maybe a staircase or 2, but it's not a show with huge set pieces.

I think you're right - I saw the original (one of the first big West End shows I saw) but can't remember too much about the staging This youtube channel has some interesting clips including news features before the first night and clips from the Royal Variety and Olivier Awards (or were they still the SWET awards at that point?) I presume this clip from the SWET awards (introduced by soon-to-be disgraced TV celebrity Frank Bough. Younger readers - look him up or ask your parents. Under 18s - don't look him up) which were held at Drury Lane features the actual set.

That video brought back some memories, and this one brought back more because it was the cast I saw the first time I saw the show. (Also my first West End musical.)

Sheena Easton on the Graham Norton show on Radio 2 this lunchtime doing a sterling job selling the show. Truly spectacular apparently with 50 dancers on stage and stunning choreography. Looking forward to seeing this from my cheap front row seat!!
