Interesting...
Also I'd like to dreamcast Hadley Fraser and Rosalie Craig please and thanks.
(OR Louise Dearman because we - me and Dan - dreamcast her in everything...)

The good: It's here - and as it's essentially a chamber piece it's in the right venue.
The also good: Jon Bausor is a great designer - his work at the RSC and the Open Air Theatre was excellent - and then there's Bat Out of Hell and The Grinning Man.
The potentially good: The website specifically mentions the original orchestrations as being Tony winning - so hopefully they'll remain intact rather than usual reduced, and sometimes threadbare, Menier reorchestrations (I think it was 10 musicians on Broadway so can't see why not).
The worrying: Trevor Nunn. Seems to have become the Menier's go to director - however I'm not sure he's quite right for this. Too often he's got a rather heavy hand and for this show, where the score is amazing but the book is a bit overearnest, a certain lightness of touch might be needed. But let's see.
That nagging at the back of the mind moment: Given Trevor Nunn - will we get Hannah Waddingham? I like her and she could sing it - but Francesca she ain't (though I guess the same argument could have been made about Kelli O'Hara - and they are after all both great singing actresses).

Joanna Riding for Francesca! It’s the perfect role for her

I saw this on Broadway. Beautiful score whilst not being particularly memorable but that was about it for me. The storyline didn’t have enough conflict to really get me engaged. It was very understated and so will probably work well in this venue. Kelli O’Hara was the standout.
I think Rebecca Trehearn would be perfect for this role, and I could buy her as an Italian, and I think she has the voice for the score.

Good summer in London for Jason Robert Brown.
His best score and a score I just love, so gorgeous, always though this musical would be great at Regeent’s Park Open Air as the story lends itself to the outdoors and yo7 have those old bridges of the lake. However glad this is being done by the MCF As will now give this a chamber feel, Also their production values are fantastic.

One of my favourite shows. Sobbed through this on Broadway and can’t wait to see it in London. Louise Dearman or Rebecca Trehearn please, with Jane McDonald at the matinees.

Are seats still available for the first preview? I can only see it that night. And when do sales start for non-members?

YES! Finally confirmed. I hope there will still be tickets on sale once public booking opens next Monday. They better get a good cast for this as well - two people who can really sing the score.

Soooo pleased about this. I have had a busy couple of days so haven't been on the board as much as I normally would so almost fell off my chair at lunch time today when the announcement came across my social media. This is a MUST see so yet another charge on my Credit Card!

I may have mentioned previously but my mum and I saw this on the basis of the short trailer when we were in New York and thought it was worth the risk. Fast forward to the next day and getting rush tickets and we are introduced to Kelli O’Hara and this wonderful score. I hope I get the chance to see this. No qualms about paying the Menier prices for this one, just need to get my July schedule.

Received a call from the Menier this morning to say that the first preview has been postponed, and will be on Saturday 13th rather than Friday 12th

For those who can/have booked already - where are the restricted view seats? Ends of rows C-F (both blocks have rows A-F) - mostly pairs either end, with a couple of rows having 4 seats on the end as restricted

Yes, I have to agree. As good an actress as Jenna is, she just hasn’t got the voice for Francesca’s music. Waiting to be proved wrong though.

Thought she was unreal in Fun Home. Will gladly see her in this.
When does this go on sale?
