Heard Carolyn Maitland has been cast in this too. Although she pulled out of Wonderland for a better offer so I guess time will tell.

I'm not sure on this one. I'm sure it will do well and fair play to them but I don't think I'll be rushing to see it. I like a bit of Take That but seeing as they are still going I'd rather just go and see the real thing. I'm sorry if that sounds a bit harsh!

Tickets don't go on sale til April?! What's the point! They should have gone on sale the very next day. A bizarre decision. I expect there is a good reason why the tickets didn't go on sale the very next day. Just like there was a good reason why acting ability wasn't one of the assessment criteria. I would guess that it's because, in your scenario, the BBC could be in breach of its charter by directly promoting a commercial company. Sonia Friedman has already gone on record to say that, in Let It Shine, the BBC was improperly advertising commercial musicals. www.thestage.co.uk/news/2017/sonia-friedman-slams-let-shine-bbc-not-fund-commercial-musicals/

I don't recall an eight-week BBC Saturday night peak-time entertainment casting show in which either Benedict Cumberbatch or any of the Cursed Child cast won their roles as a result of public votes. And Sonia Friedman didn't put her tickets onsale the very next day after either of those BBC series which have slipped my memory.
The BBC Entertainment correspondents have to be free to report on what they consider to be the most newsworthy events. It's quite different from Let It Shine. Although I'm sure that BBC lawyers are satisfied that there is sufficient distance from the tour that the BBC hasn't acted outside the terms of its charter.

Except she was announced in the show, promoted it on her website, gave dates for people when she'd be on and encouraged people to come and see her and then didn't go into it because she got offered a lead......I guess if she's already a lead in The Band she won't need to do that

Harry from Iron Sun is going to be the understudy in this show, apparently.

There's a workshop with Take That, the band, producers and guests happening in Manchester on Sunday.

What's the betting it's all just a set up to start a new boy band for GB? He's had his own record company (that flopped) before....

Is there any excitement at all about this? I hafe heard zero buzz since the tv show ended and even then, the hype over the actual musical wasn't much. How is it selling?

According to Twitter they are putting on a 'secret' show in Manchester on Sunday. I lost any small amount of excitement I had when I realised it wasn't coming anywhere close to London

I imagine they are slightly hesitant in bringing it to London considering Never Forget (the first Take That musical) only ran 6 months at the Savoy and didn't make its money back.

They'll be avoiding London-ish tour venues whilst they decide if it's got a potential West End life. If they decide not, I wouldn't be surprised to see Wimbledon/Bromley etc appear at the end of the tour if more dates are added.

I'm sorry Robbie Williams fans but that is a face I'd never tire of slapping.

I understand really close ones but no MK, Aylesbury, High Wycombe etc. I think the closest is Northampton. He must be pretty confident it will be good enough for a WE transfer.

Tuesday 26th September showing as "sold out" which looks like the opening press night. Weekends looking "limited" for some dates and Take That fans having their usual competitions on forums "how many dates are you doing?!"
Maybe it won't do so bad after all.

Will it be a case, as it is when bands such as take that tour, of them going 'oooo look we sold out on the first day!' Only for a couple of weeks down the line suddenly finding a load of tickets down the back of the sofa and putting them on sale???

It's "sold out" only because the tickets were never on sale in the first place.

It appears to have done very well indeed, given that today was ATG Presale only.
I think though it's the sort of show that will sell a shedload of tickets regardless of the quality of the piece.
Still, intrigued to see it at some point.

Opening night has a handful of singles in the rear stalls, a couple of singles in the circle but the gallery is only about a third sold.
