Another one for saying what a fantastic show and atmosphere this is! Went 2 years ago, and again tonight. Seemed so much better tonight. So much energy! I went with a party of 9, only 2 of us had been before. Ages from 14 to 60…and everyone loved it!

There was a schedule put up for the first few, then a couple of weeks ago Grace said it was changing and she'd post when she had the new schedule. AFAIK I don't think the new one has been posted yet. |

I loved this and needed an excuse to go back. Met a friend I haven’t seen in a while tonight who said she wanted to go to the theatre but it has to be a show that isn’t sung through as she couldn’t concentrate at the songs in Les Mis. This seemed perfect, so I’ve booked us for the front row! (She didn’t want a far away seat!)
I’m not sure I explained the concept very well though but she is excited

I'm probably one of the last on the forum to see this musical but finally got to see it last night as part of the London Theatre Week.
What a fun show. Very funny and one of the best groups of singers I have heard in the westend for a long time. So much energy.
All of the main leads were on last night and I especially enjoyed Cassidy Janson who was hilarious.
Quite a few empty seats in the circle and I think the upper was closed but there was a great atmosphere from the audience with full standing ovation at the end.

Dayseat information - went to box office but all sold online now through Shaftesbury website. Click buy tickets then scroll down and click dayseats - on sale from 10am each day. I got row S stalls Are these now box office only? When I went online last week I did see them as Mark pointed out (decent seats too!). Now the website says "Day Seats for & Juliet are now available from the Box Office in Person! A limited number of seats, which will vary for every show, will be made available for each performance at Noon on the day of the show." Bit of a shame, it seemed like a nice system doing it online! |

I can take that title from you as I only saw it tonight! Afraid this didn't do it for me at all, I found the humour banal and the whole show seemed to be trying far too hard to explain what it was very obviously trying to do. Cassidy Janson is hilarious and a great singer, as is Alex Thomas-Smith, and Miriam-Teak Lee has her moments, but between them they can't save it from being excruciatingly unfunny for the most part (especially Shakespeare and Lance, and the Backstreet Boys number was possibly the worst thing I have ever seen on a stage) and even more over-acted and over-produced than Spamalot. Some of the choreography was extremely messy and the sound balance wasn't great (for the most part it was just all far too loud). Some of the songs were cleverly used, but most just felt shoehorned in around desperate dialogue that was only funny because of how bad it was. A few puns worked, most just felt like they were trying to use a sledgehammer to make their point even though it was always the bloomin obvious. And I hate shows that basically force a standing ovation. All just trying far too hard, and it left me entirely perplexed as to how this has run so long. Awful audience too. One star mostly for Cassidy Janson and the other for the fact they brought the musicians on for their own bow, which was a lovely touch. But other than that, Six is far superior to this in every single way. |

I'm somewhere in the middle on this one. Saw it for the first time on Tuesday night and enjoyed it, but didn't love it.
It felt like the musical equivalent of junk food - enjoyable enough at the time but not a lot of depth to be found. Decent performances and a very visual presentation - and probably good for bringing new audiences to the theatre - but not one I'd see again. Took me about 30 mins to get into it, found parts of it a little too cheesy and cringeworthy, and didn't enjoy the second half as much as the first.
3 stars.

Is there still no news of Grace’s dates as Juliet? Did she have regular scheduled shows pre-Covid. or just covered Miriam’s sickness and holidays? Was so long ago I can’t remember now!

No, she was just a regular understudy pre-Covid. I haven’t seen any updates about her dates yet either - her alternate performances were originally supposed to start last week. |

TodayTix is doing Rush now, so there is still a route but the tickets go quickly. TKTs have discounted tickets available for tonight too (which you can book online or through the booth). |

I saw this again tonight. I knew I wanted it to be one of my first shows back in London because I remember having so much fun the first time and leaving on such a high.
I loved it again. Unfortunately Cassidy was off tonight and when I heard that, im not going to lie and say I wasn't disappointed because she was the highlight for me first time but the understudy was fantastic, the only thing I thought was her comedy didnt quite hit as much because she does look younger and the character being older is what makes some of the characters comedy funny and land and Cassidy played that so well, but Kirstie was really fab and had a great voice with her big solo getting the best audience reaction of the night. All the other leads were on and I enjoyed them all again, I saw Melanie for the first time a we had the cover on first time round and she was hilarious and again her age made the role funnier than first time when we had a younger actress. Miriam sounded in much finer voice than I remembered from the first time so i conclude she was maybe under the weather a bit back then. I love Tim very much.
It's just so fun. Yes some of the songs are shoehorned in, but that's part of the joke, it's knowing. It's supposed to make people laugh or groan. Same with some of the story not making full sense, they are knowing about it and reference that themselves. For me it's so clever.
I'm tempted to say 5 stars but I'll say 4 stars.
This concludes my first London theatre break since lockdown, I've had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the two shows I've seen. Very happy to be back. There is nothing like it.

I already have the urge to see this again haha! As i said i always just had the urge to see it asap again after lockdown as one of my first shows back and thought that would scratch the itch but no, already wanting to see it again! I think it's a show that you could go back to over and over again and still enjoy because it's so fun and entertaining. I doubt I will go again anytime soon because there's too many other shows that I need to see for the first time on my next few London trips but I can see me going back again certainly before it closes, whenever that will be. I just really do love it.

Total opposite for me I'm afraid. Saw this with no great expectations just on word-of-mouth from this forum and enjoyed it a lot overall. Wouldn't go back though, as the story is too weak and the pop songs too meaningless to really enjoy it repeatedly. Only if I would go back with people, who hadn`t seen it yet and I know could enjoy it.  |

Hi all, seating advice please. The very first row in the Stalls is going for £35 which seems a bargain when the row behind is £75. Is there something wrong with it when the first row on the Theatre Monkey seating plan is highlighted green? Thank you in advance. I sat front row last night and I would 100% sit there again. The stage is fairly high so you do miss the feet (and I imagine this is why this row is marked down in price), but a lot of the show happens higher up so you don’t miss anything else at all. I’ve sat front row at the Shaftesbury for various productions and never had an issue. You feel really immersed in the show and it’s always amazing value for money. Plus, the legroom is great! |
