I think it’s a bit like a cafe throwing food away at the end of the day rather than giving it to a homeless shelter. I would have thought the actors on the stage would prefer an audience that is close to them, rather than people in the grand circle or the last row of the stalls. Maybe it doesn’t matter to them? Would love to know.
Maybe it’s the producer’s fault, I’m sure the box office staff are doing the best they can. Unlike some of the commenters who might want to check their tone.

There’s no obligation to offer discounted seats, though, right? Of course not, but there's 100's of seats that'll be sitting there empty if they don't. But then word gets around that if you just wait and turn up on the day you’ll get a brilliant seat at a knock down price. And no one ever books in advance or pays full price anymore. It’s not sustainable. &juliet is discounting via the usual channels isn’t it? TodayTix etc? |

It’s not sustainable. &juliet is discounting via the usual channels isn’t it? TodayTix etc? I don't think 'day seats' or rush are really a thing outside of the theatre 'community' or online groups. The general public don't really know about them, they just tend to go to TKTS or those other places in Leister Square or get them on online deals. It's mostly students, retired folk or people that aren't working that take advantage of them I think, everyone else is at work as at most places you can only get them when the BO first opens. A lot of 'fans' who see things multiple times probably do what you say, but I doubt anyone else goes to the hassle of doing it as it is so easy just to book online and throw them on their credit card and worry about it later. It has started to discount the last couple of months in offers that feature a bunch of other productions because we are in the 'dead zone' months, but before that it wasn't apart from the odd online deal somewhere you really had to hunt down. I don't even think they were on TKTS the first few months. Who knows how it all 'really' works. I have bought tickets online to many things on the day of where there are heaps of tickets available and then you get there and it's completely sold out. I went to a charity thing in NYC a few years ago that had like 500 empty seats on the day of and got there and it was packed! |

It was just announced that &Juliet will be making its North American Premiere in Toronto in February/March 2021. Not much is currently publicly known about the new North American production, whether it will tour North America or transfer to Broadway. I wonder if the Brittney songs are going to have to be cut once it goes to North America. Don't forget a Brittney Spears jukebox musical is on its way and I don't think the producers want another show using two of her bigger hits even if &J doesn't have any firm Broadway plans. |

We rushed this on Saturday. We actually planned to be at the theatre quite early but our flight was horribly delayed because the plane needed de-icing so it was well after 9:30 when we finally arrived at the theatre. The line wasn’t that long so we kept our hopes up.
We got seats on the far left side of the front row and the two guys that arrived shortly after us got the last ones on the other side. So close call...
I thought the seats were great. I was tall enough to see everything but the actors feet so I didn’t really miss anything. And it was amazing seeing it from up close. But we were seated right in front of those huge speaker instalments. Especially during Blow and Confident the floor was vibrating and we really felt that in our chests. I love a good sound system but this might be a bit much for people with sensitive ears.
Grace was on for the matinee which I was quite happy about and Kristie Skivington was really good as Anne although I missed Cassidy a little.
All in all it was a great show and a real bargain for £20.

Also Alex Tranter as Shakespeare, Ivan DeFreitas as Lance and Dillon Scott-Lewis as Romeo - debuts for Dillon and Alex in those roles - wish I could be there tonight, sounds like it will be a fun show.

Danielle Fiamanya is on again for Juliet tonight. Man i really want to see her. I hope she gets more regular shows from now on. I saw her in The Color Purple and thought she was a star.

It’s such a physical show. I don’t think they should try to do a concert version. Just cancel and refund/rebook.

I'm due to see the matinee tomorrow and not sure I'd want to see a concert version for my first viewing (I know I much preferred seeing Les Miserables staged before seeing the concert!)
Are they offering re-booking?

But the choreography is really great! |

Credit should go to the producers for allowing those who had already booked tickets to have two nights (or afternoons) at the theatre for the price of one...though of course we don't yet know what may happen next week!

It's not unusual. Happened to me twice with faulty preview performances of Priscilla and Joseph so we were offered new tickets after seeing either scaled down or concert style previews |
