I spent most of yesterday afternoon watching everything & Juliet related I could find on YouTube. Every time I think about last Thursday, I can't help but smile...so I've now been smiling almost permanently for the last three days. 😃 I really could kick 🥾 myself for only booking a ticket for the final week in Manchester. 😕 We’ve been raving about it since the previews. Anyone would think you didn’t trust us! 😑

In the West End this morning and it seems their marketing push has started. It's on the side of many buses and in tube stations as well. Is the 'Pop-Star crossed lovers' tag a new thing?

There have been posters all over town and particularly on tube stations for a good few months. The tag line I’ve not seen so far though !

We had " if pop music be the food of love, play on"

After a crazy week of panto rehearsals and work, didn’t post my review on this(not that anyone cares lol)...it is a solid-gold smash in my opinion and an easy 10 out of 10...very highly-recommended...great to be back oop North last weekend. My stepmums grand-daughter works at the theatre and says that they have had uniformly positive feedback from the punters. The WE needs a show like this right now!

I am so not sure about this...everything I read about it screams that I will probably hate it, but then I read these glowing reviews here...and I'm totally undecided. One more slot to fill for December. Maybe I should go on Youtube later and see what there is to see...

The only secret filming clips I’ve seen dont do it justice really, and also give some spoilers because they’re of the finale.
here are a couple of example of what they’ve done with the songs

For what it's worth, it's really not my kind of music and I went with very low expectations, and I loved every second of it.

I saw this a week last Friday, was in Manchester for Neil Tennant In Conversation event plus Belinda Carlisle and.... ahem.... Scrum.
Looking for something to do on the Friday night and being a proper POP! fan thought this would be right up my street.
Friend I was going up with had to be persuaded to consider it, and getting a twenty quid ticket deal manage to seal it for him.
In a nutshell we both adored it.
Fun, witty and a gigantic heart.
I felt us both bristle when May first comes on stage 'hey girlfriend!' but the well balanced performance immediately took the edge off it. Plus having the character as trans added to the whole contemporary feel to the show and made that Britney song have an entirely different meaning.
Great cast with the old hands obviously having as good a time as the newcomers.
Two massive thumbs up.

I'm not a fan of jukebox but from the clip and positive comments from board members I will give this a go

Not seen any myself and have been looking around. I expect they’ll have some when it opens to drum up business, so holding off myself until then. Not sure they’d do any before it opens.

Just a word of caution, dontdreamit. & Juliet contains (or at least it did in Manchester) some strong language, including repeated use of the F word. I'm not sure how 'young' Young is now, but forewarned is forearmed.

Then you must mix in very different circles to me, BurlyBeaR. There's a song called Effin' Perfect!!! yes it caused a lot of looks of consternation from the old guy sat across the aisle from us. He'd spent most of the show frowning; think he'd gone along for a nice afternoon of that jolly good Shakespeare and was a bit shocked with the men kissing and loud music.

It never ceases to amaze me when I overhear someone turn to the person next to them and ask "what are we seeing?" You'd think that might have come up at some point before they took their seats. 🤔

I got myself a ticket in that for the end of November, but didn’t get one for them at the time for them which I am now kicking myself about! To be honest, every time they find something they want to see, I try and take Young to it. I never had the chance to watch any theatre growing up and I want them to be able to see as much as possible. The way arts money has been cut from schools is a scandal and so I try and expose both of my children to as much of the arts as I can. Plus of course it’s an excuse for me to go to the theatre just that little bit more often 🙂

The front row in manc was full of repeat visitors no doubt in the £12 or £20 deal.. One next to me had seen it 5 times and that was only in week 2. I saw a tweet earlier today by someone who went 9 times 😯
