Someone is spending major coin on this which leads me to think they believe they have something special. I’m more than happy to give them the benefit of the doubt until I’ve seen the whole thing. It won’t be Shakespeare but might be a fun enough escape for a few hours.

I've got tickets which a friend kindly got for me at 2 for 1 ages ago and I'm taking my friend for her special birthday with a zero at the end. She's not a theatre nut like I am, so I really hope this is much better than people are expecting it to be. Oh well, it's a day out I suppose. ;-)

OK, I can only speak for myself, but I think I'm as average and vanilla as musical lovers come - I try to see most everything, sometimes even when I'm very doubtful, because I want to form my own opinion and there are very few shows I outright detest (usually for plot/book reasons) and avoid. This one doesn't interest me at all though. I don't believe that singers/bands write their own music all the time, but I had never heard the name of Max Martin before and I know hardly any of the songs mentioned on that poster (and if I do, I don't care for them one jot, like "Baby one more time"). It seems a wild jumble of bland pop songs that might have been famous once but certainly never made a long-lasting impact like, say, ABBA's "Dancing Queen", Queen's "We are the champions" or Michael Jackson' "Thriller" to name but three artists around which successful jukebox musicals have been built. And let's face it, nobody sees jukebox musicals for their usually bonkers' plots, people are in it for the music. This seems a third-rate compilation thrown together for a "90's party" at a local hall. Schitt's Creek is lovely and fun by the way, but there's a massive difference between watching a mildly amusing sitcom for free at home and a very expensive West End show. Sorry, I'm out. I book group tickets for every single show - this one I just don’t care about either!

All that OTT sass gets tiring very quickly. I’m with the string section..

Those on a restricted budget could visit any of the many karaoke bars in Manchester instead and probably have a more enjoyable evening. That said, I'm going to get a ticket just to see how bad bad can be.

Lol I don’t think that was so bad! 😜Again it’s hard to make a judgement based off rehearsal and not in the context of the show. I’m v intrigued by how this show will turn out!

People were quick to dismiss Six with their early performances and look what happened there.

With Oliver Tompsett and Cassidy Janson on board, I'm thinking it can't be that bad. I'll be going. I'm just waiting for a deal first 😂

I’ve booked for the 1st Saturday matinee preview in Manchester. If it’s as crazy a show as Bat Out of Hell I’ll be happy. I’m really intrigued on how they are going to use the different songs in the show to be honest. I’m going with an open mind as I thought I wouldn’t like SIX when I saw it in Salford last year, but loved it after a few minutes of the show starting so hopefully this one will be the same.

It doesn't matter who's in it. They're actors who need work to pay bills. I've seen things with big West end names in it, and it means nothing if the show just doesn't work.
Mamma Mia is the only hit in the long list if shows where a plot is fitted in around existing songs. And the plot in &Juliet is beyond ridiculous.
I can't wait!!

Mamma Mia is the only hit in the long list if shows where a plot is fitted in around existing songs. Ahem. We Will Rock You. It was TERRIBLE - I was given a free ticket, and I overpaid - but it involved a plot being fitted in around existing songs, and it was a huge hit.

WWRY and Mamma Mia are both terrible!!
Still, I'm remaining optimistic on this. Sometimes you just need something fun, if it's done well (a big if, I know) 😀

It was pure tourist fodder like Thriller. I know some people won't like this, but it was lowest common denominator entertainment!

Our House, anyone?! Loved that! Not what i'd call a huge hit, regardless of how good the quick changes were!

Not wanting to jinx it, but Oliver Tompsett was in We Will Rock You, and Mamma Mia, and Our House, and now he's in this..... 🤔

This is clever...that’s about a quarter of a million in ticket sales right there.
“Why is Harry going there?” “Maybe we should go?” “He might be there the night we go” “aaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhharrrrrreh” etc.
