Ahhh that's fabulous news - love The Lowry - spacious and comfortable with some nice bars and galleries. The last tour had it's second stop at The Palace (where they recorded the album) and what I think was the final stop at The Lowry. Manchester loves Les Mis :-) |

Ah. I couldn't get tickets for Edinburgh, and it's looking unlikely that I'll be able to scrape up the money for the Newcastle dates. I heard rumours of Glasgow but I could probably manage to traipse up to Aberdeen if not.

Well this was absolutely stunning tonight. I don’t know if they’ve changed it further since the 25 tour but it looks so much more huge and lavish than I recall. The design is gorgeous, lighting, sound all spot on. We lashed out on premiums for this but I could see every single penny of my ticket money on that stage. What more can you ask for than that? Killian Donnelly smashes it and Nic Greenshields’ had me tearing up at Stars. Also....MARIUS ISNT TOO WET!  Yes I have a couple of niggles with a couple of things but I’m not even going there because this is five big ones ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and I think this is a fitting replacement for the current London production. I think it will give the show a new lease of life, and Cameron is a very clever man. |

I missed the 25th anniversary tour, so was looking forward to this, and wasn’t disappointed. Just my little note to the Director ..... too many “crotch grabbing movements” every time something lewd is mentioned. Once is amusingly cheeky, many times seems unfortunate. But the staging and lighting was so interesting and slick, the sound was brilliant and there are some terrific performances .... of course Killian and Nic are both breathtaking, Enjolras, Grantaire etc ( powerful performances and such superb timing), Eponine (excellent, can’t fault her) , the kids were engaging, and the Thenardiers were so well cast, and actually funny ..... although the “master of the house” scene was a bit too “busy” for my liking . The whole company, on stage and back stage should be so proud that the show still looks so fresh after so many performances. I’ll be back, in Cardiff. |

I went for row M to be able to take everything in better! I realised when booking it must be at least 15 years since I’ve last seen the show in London so really looking forward to getting back to see it one more time!

There are no projections on the floor in the tour version.
The ones at the back of the stage are beautiful though, soooooo much better than those old brown shutters in the West End. They’re used to give a three dimensional effect in several scenes and it works brilliantly.

The bit after the prologue and Valjean’s soliloquy where that familiar musical theme kicks in, the orchestra hits a crescendo and ‘Les Miserables’ is projected across the back of the stage is a massive shiver down spine moment. Very emotional.

I guess people will twig on with the ageing and oh that's Cosette now grown up, but you don't want a confused audience and I think it helps show just how much time has passed. |

Working on the presumption that *most* people will have programmes which they'll read pre-show.. |
