I’ve seen that an English language production is playing at the Lido2, is it just the UK production doing a stint in France or is it a new production all together? It’s the U.K. production having a short trip abroad - don’t get excited www.timewarp.org.uk/lab2021/index.htm#dates

Just home from the opening night of the Belfast leg of the tour.
Loved it as usual. Most of the cast was the same as it was when we had it here last year barring Richard Meeks now playing Brad.
Had Reece Budin on the narrator. Saw him in the role last year as well and thought he was absolutely perfect. Really worked a lot of local humour into the script. And just before Toucha Toucha Touch Me, has a hilarious moment referencing The Bodyhuard which is coking to the theatre next month, breaking out into a melody of Whitney songs, nearly causing Hayley Flaherty to burst out laughing during the scene.
Only my 4th time seeing the show. A lot of long term fans were mentioning new bits that had been added since the last time the tour came round but didn't notice much myself. If any could enlighten me.

I really wouldn’t mind the tour being rebooted entirely from scratch. The new version is so barebones compared to previous iterations.

I really wouldn’t mind the tour being rebooted entirely from scratch. The new version is so barebones compared to previous iterations. This 100% needs to happen, they have largely used the same cast for a number of years now, and the same set for far longer, it is starting to feel really tired now, so much so that I have skipped the current tour when it was in Manchester and Cardiff recently, normally I would have seen it at either (or both) locations.

Please god, hope this isnt true. Seeing him as Frank was one of the worst performances I've ever seen on a stage. He was so bad, the audience were shouting his lines to him instead of the usual ad libs. This really does need a reboot.

He was in a bad place when he was doing the show last time so that maybe didn't help his performance but he met his wife who was working behind the scenes on the show and sorted his life out so that was the big plus he got from doing the role. The show does tend to have the same cast pretty much for the last few tours but it is a hardcore fanbase who always seem to turn up in their glorious outfits so is it now almost a case of preaching to the converted.

Don’t forget JD’’s also been playing Frank in Australia for the last couple of years, so I I think it’s just been a matter of time before he’s come back to the UK to play the role again.

This really does need a reboot. Agreed. The current tour has been on the go for about a decade now - and Kristian Lavercombe has done almost every date as Riff Raff. My issue with the production is that all of the character takes are essentially impressions of the people who played them in the movie. It looks tired, it looks cheap. It’s time to retire it. I’d love a new interpretation of it with different takes on the characters. Give us a Frank which isn’t just a pale imitation of Tim Curry.

This Luscombe production has been around since about 2007 now, I think, with David Bedella leading it and Nathan Amzi as Eddie/Dr Scott! A couple of years later Mark Evans joined the cast as Brad. Then there was the tour that had Oliver Thornton as Frank and Roxanne Pallett and Ben Forster as Janet and Brad, which was when Kristian Lavercombe was cast as Riff Raff...

As much as I love Rocky Horror (and I really do!) that the thing isn't it. I never saw him on stage, only on film, but Tim Curry did such a brilliant job and left such an impression that, as you have accurately stated, anything else feels like a mere imitation!

I saw the show in Inverness thanks to free tickets and I did thank god I never paid for the show. It’s unlikely I ever will pay to see this tour again. I saw the show in 2010 in Edinburgh with David Bedella, Hayley Flaherty and Richard Meek, and I remember that production being full of life and the staging being really interesting and immersive. You have to appreciate Hayley and Richard committing to the same role 14 years later but come on now, let the stockings rest.

I was due to see him around 1996 or 97 on the tour in High Wycombe, but he was "indisposed" that night. Saw the understudy. But I do have the brochure featuring production photos with him in!

I was recently in Melbourne at the end of February. Although we say Groundhog Day, Jason Donovan was in the Rocky Horror show was playing a lock or two away.
Although I didn't see the show, we passed the theatre and saw the awing on the tram.

I think I have seen every tour since this version of the show has been around. It has had a few gems in the cast - David Bedella for instance, but it really does just feel tired, and doesn't excite me anymore. Maybe look at the German version for inspiration, that version always interests me!

Have to say im excited Jason is doing Rocky again. Saw him a lot in the 90,s and saw him a lot in Oz last year. He’s fab. Can’t wait. He was brilliant with the current Oz cast. Only wish they would come over here as magenta and Riff Raff are brilliant… Kel

Is it the same production then? Much as I'd love to go again, not sure the Bromley pricing is worth it for THAT production anymore and not aware of any ways to get discounts/day tickets there...
(if only they might do another stint at the peacock!)

Hope they announce the new cast for this, now that the old tour finished yday….. I'm just hoping for an overall new production, not just a new cast. It really does need a refresh. The way that Kristian has been posting about his last show after 11 years, it looks like he could be moving on, so at least there is a new Riff Raff on the way - maybe.

Yes, I felt seriously short changed when I saw this at the Peacock Theatre with its cardboard set and lip syncing Brad. I saw a tour of it years ago and it was fantastic. This current tour was like a bad panto.
