Apologies if already a thread on this, but I couldn't find anything and also if it should be in Opera rather than musical.
Anyway I went to see this operetta last night at Wilton's Music Hall.
I have previously seen other Sasha Regan productions of Mikado, HMS Pinafore and Iolanthe. Pirates is yet another magnificent production by the all male cast and Wilton's is the perfect venue.
The young (and should I say very fit) cast give a wonderful and very funny performance, completely without mics and boy you can hear every word clearly. There is a very fine line, when you have men also taking on the female roles, between it being a send up or staying with the original and they do this perfectly. I don't think I have laughed so much in a very long time or enjoyed such wonderful voices.
I think it finishes soon but if you have a chance to go I thoroughly recommend it.

Finishes tomorrow. I've seen the Pirates and Iolanthe at Wiltons in the past and they were such treats! Can't make it this time, sadly. Have seen very little publicity about this run.

There is something fitting about Sullivan being performed at the Palace theatre once again.

I am booked to see this on Thursday night. Looking forward to it! I saw it on Saturday and found it very enjoyable. I wonder if an all female version has ever been discussed?
