Oh wonderful! I thought she'd retired from the stage for good!

A new play by Christopher Hampton, drawn from the life and testimony of Brunhilde Pomsel, directed by Jonathan Kent “I had no idea what was going on. Or very little. No more than most people. So you can’t make me feel guilty.”
Brunhilde Pomsel’s life spanned the twentieth century. She struggled to make ends meet as a secretary in Berlin during the 1930s, her many employers including a Jewish insurance broker, the German Broadcasting Corporation and, eventually, Joseph Goebbels. Christopher Hampton’s play is based on the testimony she gave when she finally broke her silence to a group of Austrian filmmakers, shortly before she died in 2016.
Maggie Smith, alone on stage, plays Brunhilde Pomsel.

Just wonderful! I thought I would never see her on stage (well, I have not yet the ticket though...).

My thoughts entirely, this will be a hot ticket for that reason alone surely.

What do we reckon, worth reinstating any lapsed £15 advance memberships to get the 24 hour head-start, or would that be over-cautious and tickets will be easy enough to get as long as you're ready to go as soon as public booking opens?

Considering how much they could charge, that’s not half bad. Hopefully getting tickets won’t be too difficult

Front row booked for end of April, £25. A quick queue and loads of seats available at the moment.

Well I saw this and bought Advance membership to get tickets a day before general sale. I don't care how much it costs. I never thought I'd get to see her onstage and that experience is priceless. I've never been to the Bridge. In the event that there aren't any good stalls seats left by the time of the advance sale, is the view from the circle good? Ideally I'd be four of five rows back in the stalls but we shall see (it is on my birthday though so that's a treat and a half!)

Advanced membership bought this morning. A chance to see Maggie Smith on stage is definitely worth it.

No interval.
£15 day seats will be available. Just 1 per person.
Under 26s can also book an 'exclusive allocation' of £15 tickets.

Booked for Maggie and for for the Hytner Dream in the summer which is having the Julius Caesar seating configuration so should be a lark. Or very dark!

The Under 35 membership scheme is great value (I am still under 35, thank the lord) so I've booked two £15 tickets for Maggie. Still a lot remaining so I am guessing there will be something for public booking.

I've never heard of this Maggie Smith. What has she done?

Does anyone know that if both the people have to be under 35 for the under 35 membership when getting the tickets or just the person purchasing?

Does anyone know that if both the people have to be under 35 for the under 35 membership when getting the tickets or just the person purchasing? I would assume both people, otherwise it feels ripe for exploitation.

Yet another apparently popular event/play ( as with All About Eve, the Crimp play at the NT & the Ian McKellen tour) in which I have, fortunately for my finances, zero interest. I do however hope that not all theatres follow suit or I'll be left with nothing to see.

Maggie Smith alone on stage reads from the last edition of the Yellow Pages.
TOTAL sell out! Phone lines jammed, websites down, queues across Tower Bridge for returns!
Reviews - 5 stars across the board "The way she said "twenty four hour emergency plumber" was hilarious". Mark Shenton. "Drains, sinks and toilets unblocked" - a masterclass in timing". Lyn Gardner. "All damp-proofing and remedial woodworm work undertaken" - revelatory and deeply moving". Quentin Letts.

I used the £10 credit I've had on my account for the last few months and took out an advance membership - I don't know if row AA is going by dayseats but there was none of the £15 stalls seats available for the whole run when I looked, got myself a £25 seat on the side for the end of April.

I was able to get front-facing AA seats this morning for £25 - so not day seats
