I was able to get front-facing AA seats this morning for £25 - so not day seats Def a bargain. Top price is £95. Even for Maggie I didn’t pay this. I went lower.... |

I'm tempted to fly from the US to see this. If I do make the trip, what other productions in London would be worth seeing in April?

The Twilight Zone at the Ambassadors, Betrayal at the Harold Pinter, All About Eve at the Noel Coward, The Price at Wyndham's, Home I'm Darling at the Duke of York's (until 13th April) then Rosmersholm (from 24th), Sweet Charity at the Donmar, Fiddler on the Roof at the Playhouse, Admissions at the Trafalgar Studios, Emilia at the Vaudeville, 9 to 5 The Musical at the Savoy, Come From Away at the Phoenix, Three Sisters at the Almeida, check out the National's website too - Downstate looks interesting and Tartuffe seems good from early reports. Small Island will be previewing in the Olivier. All My Sons with Sally Field and Bill Pullman at the Old Vic from 13th.

I used the £10 credit I've had on my account for the last few months and took out an advance membership - I don't know if row AA is going by dayseats but there was none of the £15 stalls seats available for the whole run when I looked, got myself a £25 seat on the side for the end of April. How were you able to book with Advance membership? Didn’t think it opened to Advance members until 25th? |

The Bridge sent me an email saying if I took out advance membership, I could book yesterday: I didn't decide to actually do so until the afternoon by which time all the front (and centre) row seats had gone. |

Follies, Gillian Anderson & Lily James in All About Eve, Penelope Wilton at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Sally Field & Bill Pullman in All My Sons, Hiddleston in Betrayal... that would seem to be a good half dozen to fill a trip! |

No. Mostly as I expect it to sell out quickly.
Surprised that some people on here have not seen Maggie Smith on stage previously, mostly as I expected nearly everyone to be a doddering geriatric like me! I looked it up and it's 12 years since her last London performances, that seemed a fairly short time but then I realised it really really isn't!

I've been lucky enough to have seen her 4 times on stage (Three Tall Women, A Delicate Balance, The Lady in the Van and The Lady from Dubuque) and she is absolutely tremendous.

As well as the above I also saw her in Lettice and Lovage - absolutely fabulous! She is great on stage. A terrific stage actress. Film and TV is almost too small for her, she has to reign it back!

What happened to the play with SRB about Bach - is that later in the year?

I've not seen her in anything since "A Breath of Life" with Dame Judi, it would be rude not to try and see her again... Fingers Xd for some availability surviving the priority booking periods.

Thanks for the many suggestions for other shows to fill out my trip to London. Now I must cross my fingers and hope for tickets and a cheap airfare!

Does anyone know that if both the people have to be under 35 for the under 35 membership when getting the tickets or just the person purchasing? Just the member. Additional tickets have no age restrictions. |

I was able to catch Dame Judi in one of her (presumably) outings to the stage but Dame Maggie's absence has been too long. Now I can't make it during these dates. Which is a pity since, being German, I'd be interested in the play itself as much as in seeing Maggie Smith live on stage. Oh well. I guess the text will be available to buy. |

Consider me informed! I had to look Patricia Quinn up as I thought 'not the woman from Rocky Horror?'. But yes indeed 'tis her and she is 74. This is terrifying.
