I've had the cancellation email for one date so far. At least I get the option of paying for a more expensive ticket.
Still, I will rebook for the replacement cast, who I would have paid to see anyway. I imagine the concert will run for months with the new cast.

I’ve had an email for my January visit but not my December one (both cheap seats in the upper circle).
The release of house seats for £165 isn’t an option for me!

I've had the cancellation of my Upper Circle tickets just now.... awaiting options, but think I'll be getting mu money back, no way I can afford anything else at the moment...

From a business point of view cancelling the cheap seats makes most sense. I just hope they decide soon so I can book something else. If I lose panto too for the same reason I’ll be destroyed though. Panto has fallen. I haven’t had an email about my les mis booking for the matinee - 19/12 though (only 23/01) |

That's tongue in cheek though as if doing that means it's the only way things can affordably go ahead it's better than all those involved losing work |

Looks like that is what they have done at the palladium too which does have a separate entrance for the upper circle. |

I notice that three of my four bookings have disappeared from my list of bookings in the DMT members area. No emails, but presumably withdrawn as they were only £45 seats (the only one surviving is a £65 seat).
I was booked for first night on Saturday and really looking forward to it.
Lost my booking to see MB's cover as well.
It does make early booking and DMT+ membership pointless if you're going to be the first people cancelled.

Beyond getting the numbers down, this really still is a money over safety response in my mind. From a H&S view, it would be better to keep the upper circle open and cut seats across all three tiers. This has done nothing to benefit anybody in the dress or stalls it seems (unless they are cutting seats there too, in which case I was not aware of this). Entirely seems like bending the rules for financial purposes to meet the requirements without doing anything meaningful.

Can't answer that question at the moment - but if, as in the DMT letter, they need to reduce the audience by around 160 members then they wouldn't need to close the entire upper circle as at the moment (according to theatre monkey's seating plan for a socially distanced Sondheim Theatre) holds around 235 people. So to close it entirely would mean 75 fewer seats than they are permitted to have. It also seems odd to take about 'reconfiguring the seating plan' if all they are doing is closing an entire level. And as noted above it's hardly in the spirit of reducing the number for health and safety reasons by shutting off a section. Arguably by closing a level your base capacity reduces by that number of seats though the guidance doesn't include such caveats (details from this government - that would be a first!!) I suspect, as seems to be the case, it's simply the cheaper seats which will be 'removed' - and any new tickets which do go on sale will see a price hike - with almost everything in the Stalls and Dress Circle becoming premium. |

I requested credit vouchers for my two bookings (on the basis of Tier 3) so that I could re-book for the extension. They came through immediately, with a booking link for the new February dates. Figured it was better to jump now, rather than wait until 16 December when my tier might reduce but the new shows would likely be sold out!

The 50% is clearly an arbitrary figure, and if the government hasn't stipulated how it's to be done, of course producers are going to have to remove the cheaper seats. Cameron has said the production will now run at a loss, so I'm not sure what else he could do. |

They can't have closed the GC as tickets are back on sale for odd days, assuming tier 3 returns and a few are in the GC, wouldn't have thought there would have been enough cheaper seats to cancel to get the Nos down?

just checked the seating plan and there are some seats in the upper circle for £67.50 on Friday 11 December and a few other dates

We had £65 upper circle seats which have been cancelled...so it seems it’s pretty much all the upper circle tickets being cut?

My 4x£65 upper circle seats for Early Dec are still showing - and I haven't had an email (although it may only be a matter of time) - so I'm not sure it's entirety of the upper circle.
Possibly just the singles/cheaper tickets?
Such a shame.
