The delfont mackintosh website says "with a cast and orchestra of over 65" I read that as cast and orchestra combined making over 65. But another website said orchestra of 65 so guess depends on how people interpret the wording. That would make more sense... Feel like I read somewhere this morning that said separately said orchestra of 65, but can't remember where. Yes i read that too just now but I can't find the website now

It's definitely around 65 people on stage in total (cast and orchestra) - split around 50/50. So nowhere near a 65 piece orchestra - but much larger than in the pit at the Queen's either with the original or for the reboot.
The press release is slightly ambiguous - and so some of the stories have misread it - not dissimilar to the press release of a few weeks back when it announced the closure and reopening.

From the ticket sales and discussions there does seem big demand for this.
Of course, it is not for everyone but what production is.

Just had another look after my rushed booking yesterday. Every single Saturday matinee looks like it has sold out. Wow! I'm still a little confused why there is a gap at the start and end of the run between this and the 2 Queens runs. Ignoring the argument over it being a different production surely if this started and finised right at the weekend of the original closure and new opening that would make more sense?

Do you want a separate thread for the concert or prefer to leave it all here? I’m happy to move things around if you think it would be better.
Your call!

What I’m most amazed about is that Michael “One Step Out of Time” Ball is playing Javert. It just seems so wrong on every level. Anyone seen him lately? Is he Michael Balti or Michael Ballet at the moment?

Managed to get the last grand circle £45 seat for Sat 23/11/19 evening. Actually, it was the very last available seat for that performance! I loved the 25th anniversary concert cinema screening, and I'm now really looking forward to hearing Alfie Boe sing "Bring Him Home" live! On Alfie's previous outing as JVJ I went to an early performance in the run, joined one of his fan forums afterwards and asked why the audience were applauding over that last big note in Bring Him Home. Lots of fans said the same responding to my post and it stopped, thank goodness ... On on the question of Marius ... Do we think there might be another TV search? (Only slightly joking).

I'd say new thread too.
With the Queen's Theatre and touring productions it could all get a bit too crowded and confusing here otherwise.

On on the question of Marius ... Do we think there might be another TV search? (Only slightly joking). I actually think that all the cast might actually be returners from the show. Not just the big stars. Or the other thing I remember when I posted that rumour that was around that Conor Maynard was gonna be Marius last year. Then he went to Broadway to be Charlie in Kinky Boots. Maybe not Marius I wonder maybe Enjolras...

Perhaps there should be an entirely new section devoted to Les Miserables, alongside Musicals and Plays!
Old London production. New London production. London concert. Touring production. A N Others.

I was going to book for this, but after seeing the prices I am not bothering. I have seen LES MIS numerous times over the years, and have seen it both with John Owen-Jones and Alfie Boe. I would have liked to have seen Michael Ball as Javert, as a big fan of his, but I cannot justify the prices just for him.
I may wait for the remount of LES MIS back at the Queen’s as I have never seen the touring production.

That would make more sense... Feel like I read somewhere this morning that said separately said orchestra of 65, but can't remember where. Yes i read that too just now but I can't find the website now Reading the press statement on the CamMac website, I now realise where I got confused... "...will lead a large cast and orchestra of over sixty-five in the concert version... This spectacular staging of the legendary concert, previously seen in London at the Royal Albert Hall and the O2 Arena..."As the orchestra was around 60 piece for the previous concert versions, it implies this new concert would be as per the previous, thus leading me to assume it'd be an orchestra of "over 65". I think the use of the word combined wouldn't have gone amiss.

He might tell you his thinking behind it.

I am hugely surprised that there are still seats left for the final performance of the original production at the Queen's left!

It seems like all (or most) of Alfies dates are sold out.
I wonder if they’re holding seats and more will go on sale closer to?
