I believe that the cast has been rehearsing at the Prince Edward since last week (it's where they did the Britain's Got Talent rehearsals too) whilst the technical team has been at the Sondheim - in line with covid h&s production guidelines. Not sure if there's anything more to read into them being at the Edward - but at least it's clear that the theatre is operating in some way - rather than completely mothballed like some of the West End houses.

They are both Grade Two listed buildings. However it might be that the dressing rooms (which span the entire rear of the block) have always had some limited access between them. Or perhaps as part of Cameron's redevelopment of each of them he was able to incorporate these changes - just in case. Who knows?

As if my anxiety levels weren't high enough Oddly, when you go on to the booking page via the DMT+ link, they are still selling seats for a large number of performances, especially in December (there are very few tickets available via the general sale). I'm not sure if these are returns from people who can no longer make it, but it seems strange to continue selling tickets if they have to reduce the capacity. But they've been very quiet since their announcement last Monday when the tiers were first announced. Only a tweet from Delfont Mackintosh saying they were offering refunds to anyone affected by the tier system. |

I have tickets for next Saturday and my initial flights were cancelled. I held off making new travel plans until I knew what was happening, but eventually just decided to rebook this morning. 🤞 |

Now I might be reading too much into things, but I've just looked at my DMT+ future bookings, and three separate bookings for Les Mis are not listed - one group of 3 in Grand Circle cheap seats, and two single mid-price seats on seperate dates.
The remainder of my bookings are listed (comprising 2xpairs and 2xtriplets, all in the dearer price range).
So... the question is... Have DMT decided to wipe out the Grand Circle plus a selection of singles/pairs elsewhere to make up the 200 seat reduction in capacity? All seats that are not listed are the less expensive ones (£35/£45). The ones left are £95/£165 category.
Any thoughts? Has anybody else with multiple bookings via DMT+ checked?

I fear they've shut the grand circle - that would lose 150 seats and then the remaining 50 could be odds and sods from the back of Dress Circle, or singles. Possibly they are assuming the complete run at 50% capacity based on govt guidance. My guess is that they are picking off all the customers for a bulk mail early next week - a "sorry but we've had to shut the Grand Circle, you'll be refunded within 7 days". |

There are still (very) expensive tickets on sale for many dates too.

There are still (very) expensive tickets on sale for many dates too. It really does show what a nonsense the rules are doesn't it! Doesn't the Upper Circle have a separate entrance anyway? So in effect these people are kept apart from the other two levels anyway. Hence closing it will in no way make it 'safer' (not that I personally think it needs to be) for Stalls/Circle. Anyway, you can add me to the list of people waiting anxiously to hear about their Les Mis fate! That said I am mercifully grateful they haven't just pulled the whole thing.... |

I just checked my bookings and my stalls and more expensive UC tickets are still there but my bookings for the cheaper UC tickets have gone, guess Cammack is prioritisng those who paid more

I'm sorry to all if my post has revealed some bad news for some. It was a late night "brainwave" to check my DMT+ page as I was getting frustrated by the lack of communication. Judging by the comments, it looks like they are literally scraping the extra seat reductions from the lowest price up.
Commercially, I understand this but feel that the government's heavy-handed authoritarian approach is biting harder on those who either can't afford or refuse to pay the expensive prices. I feel so sorry for those who appear to have lost their bookings. A refund hardly makes up for it, particularly if you have taken days off.
Who knows, perhaps the next purge will be on Tier 3 postcodes? (Though I doubt this will happen as the potential resale window is too narrow and tier traceability is impossible.)

If that is what they are doing, then it seems to me to be lighting the fire on a discrimination claim - they can't just decide that the people who bought cheaper seats can have their seats cancelled are less worthy so they can make more money, and apply a blanket rule that way. Entirely unfair and unequal. Same if they just cancel singles and pairs. They have to apply a policy that treats their customers equally.
I sympathise with them because the capacity limit policy is complete nonsense and I had thought there would be a common sense exemption applied to pre-existing bookings by the govt, but if this is the way they are going to do it and they don't extend the run to allow those people to rebook (at the prices they paid) then I will be doing my best not to give DMT my money anytime soon, because this stinks.
Thanks again to the government for making this year even more miserable (pun intended) than it already was.

Also why are tickets still on sale? What happens if I go in and buy an expensive stalls seat now - does someone else in the UC lose theirs? What if they don't have a single seat for that performance that they could cancel - do they contact a group of 3 and say "sorry, you only have 2 seats now"?
It's ridiculous.

They need to provide answers soon: tomorrow morning at the latest, as people need to plan ahead. They shouldn’t be selling seats still.
In theory, could they cancel all tickets from people who registered their booking to a Tier 3 address? I don’t think there’s any solution that is fair, but this might be the most obvious way of doing it when they have few other options. No guarantee they’d get to 200 seats by doing that for every performance of course.
I wonder if they’ll just cancel the run completely. Didn’t CM say they’d struggle to break even if they had to reduce capacity any further?

From a commercial perspective I can't see a postcode purge - hard to justify, manage and deliver in less than one week. Plus govt are likely to start segmenting counties like Kent due to the broadbrush system not working, so it would be wasted effort just for two weeks until the next tier review.
My guess is, they've got so far in rehearsals that they need to make it work, and losing £10k per performance is better than losing £20k. It's maths in the end - audience sentiment and fairness comes second.
Without being doctor gloom, perhaps there has been no announcement because they are still crunching the maths for viability. Despite MB's One Show comments, if CamMack stands to run at a significant loss I can still see this show being pulled, unless the cast/crew contracts have no get-out clauses.

My 4x£65 grand circle seats are still showing in future bookings...
Do we think it is the cheaper seats that are being scrapped? Seems hugely unfair to scrap the most affordable seats at a time like this, but as a poster above says, it’s all in the maths.
