It'll be a standard large-scale Qdos pantomime - i.e. the same jokes their stars use every year, but it'll be a massive production, there'll be at least one, probably two, flying effects that will put Elphaba's flight to shame. If anyone has ever seen Michael Harrison's other pantos in Birmingham or Newcastle over previous years, this is the sort of level that can be expected. I for one am very excited! Lol! Panto has used the same jokes since 1872....... that's why we love it! (And I don't need no smartarse telling me that it was invented in the 1900s thanks very much!) Ohhhhh no we don't!

Lol! That's the spirit Theatremonkey! We'll convert the non-believers yet! Right. What's next? Virtual boiled sweet hurling or a 1980s saccharine duet that no one listens to? (Oh, and could someone look after my large box while I pop out for a bit? )

So what do people think next year's panto will be?
I was originally thinking that it could be Aladdin but since the musical of that is playing over the road then I don't think they'll put the panto version of it at the Palladium. I hope and think it will be Snow White & the 7 dwarfs - that's a very popular panto too. I really hope it isn't Peter Pan as that's my least favourite panto

Dick Whittington could make sense

Dick Whittington could make sense Was thinking that one too but I thought Snow White was more popular.
Either way if they are doing two pantos then I would put money on it being Dick Whittington and Snow White

If Wind in The Willows proves successful, it could extend and therefore no panto goes in ne t year as it is already a big family musical.

I know it's not gospel, but Baz did mention yesterday on twitter that two brand new pantos would go into the Palladium in 2017 & 2018, and he wasn't tweeting it as speculation or rumour, it seemed like it was stated as a fact!

It's possible Qdos has a contract with RUG for another two years of pantos so WITW can't extend any longer than say October unless there is a break clause for RUG with Qdos

Well that was long! The three and a bit hours absolutely flew by but I really wasn't expecting the running time to be that long. Overall a hilarious evening and I really didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Cracking casting overall. Although I'm left feeling very thankful I didn't catch Amanda Holden in Shrek.

Were the songs original or songs from different musicals?
