Indeed he can, especially in plays which Kenneth Lonergan has fashioned for him. It's a beautiful play and when Broderick did it in New York it was terrific ( though its critical reception was decidedly mixed) . |

that blank, affectless delivery is cringemaking beyond words, and McGovern is almost as wretched.

Well Ferris Bueller is one of my all time favourite films, and I really like Lonergan's film You Can Count On Me, £15 tickets in the balcony that aren't even restricted view is amazing!

Matthew Broderick is someone who seems to attract an inexplicable amount of hate, the Broadway World board regularly eviscerate him and hang him out to dry. As stated above by talkingheads he will always be Ferris Bueller for some of us (and Alan in the Torch Song film for me). As a young actor he also put in some very impressive performances both on stage and in film. I think he's suffered from the Hollywood curse of being typecast. Unfortunately for him he has been typecast as a bland second leading man. If you seek out some of his less high profile films from the last 10-15 years he still can impress.

I haven't seen him in anything since Election which was 20 years ago but yes, he can act. I'm not excited enough to buy tickets now though.

Well I just booked myself in for June with some friends - it’s difficult to get them to any play unless there are big name stars in it so they jumped at this. Plus we loved Manchester By The Sea (the film).

The advert for this came through online this morning and I got so exited (I think) a bit of pee came out! Lol!
I'm an 80's child. Ferris Bueller acting in London, opposite the female lead from She's Having a Baby.
I am there!

For anybody interested this week's Graham Norton was great fun, with Broderick on to promote this. In truth he didn't really sell the play very well but nevertheless I'm still looking forward to it.

I had an offer for this today, which I was waiting for because as per the prices were silly. Just looking at random dates for tickets earlier there seemed to be loads of availability. I am becoming increasingly befuddled by all these shows announcing with 'stars' (Light In The Piazza, Man Of La Mancha, this and I could probably think of more) with frankly ludicrous prices and then the discounts start. As somebody who quite likes Renee Fleming, Kelsey Grammar, Elizabeth McGovern and Matthew Broderick there is still no way I am going to fork over £130 or the like for a ticket. Plus I'm a primarily single theatre goer, as a couple the costing just gets more out of reach. Who are the producers trying to pull in to the shows? Do they really think the aforementioned names, all talented, warrant the prices? Is the plan to sucker a few people in to buying premium rates and then discount to get sales? There were loads of empty seats at True West when I went last year and one of the stars of that is in GOT which seems to be everywhere constantly. When the same man was in Dr Faustus I walked past near riots at that theatre after the shows. I really can't get to grips with the planning or how it plays out. And yet Betrayal has been a huge success I believe in terms of sales. And of course riots at stage doors.

Front row now available online for £10 plus booking fee Cheers for that, have now got myself sorted for the first week in June - it says very high stage but I had been hmming and aahing about paying £50 for a ticket so I'm sure the £40 I've saved will buy me a lot of Ralgex if my neck can't cope. |

Taken a punt on the £10 offer, have low expectations but at that price not a too much of an outlay and worth a look.
