That's the best way to run a ticket lottery in my opinion, no need to enter every week, all done in a few seconds. The downside is that the chances of winning will get less by the week. |

Thanks for this, yeah I’ve tried different masks, I think it’s more because it takes so little to impair my vision even further it gets tiring trying to constantly amend things for it. If you can let me know how they manage it tonight, just for peace of mind so I know what to expect that would be super helpful. I checked with someone when I went in and they said we should wear masks the whole show, unless we're drinking or eating. I wear mine all the time anyway but looking around the circle, I would say 25% maximum wore their mask. Absolutely ZILCH enforcement, other than an announcement upfront, that was actually pretty quiet and I didn't see that prompt anyone around me without a mask, to put one on. Show wise, it's a tricky one for me. I never liked the movie but saw the show on Broadway three times and loved it, despite the really mediocre book, despite not liking a few of the soppy love songs and despite there being literally 0 sexual chemistry between the two leads. But it was a great spectacle with incredible choreo, some absolutely fabulous mash ups, a fabulous set and brilliant ensemble. So definitely a great spectacle rather than a show with much (or any) depth to it. LOL So with regards to all of the above, apart from a slighter smaller set, London is on par with Broadway. However, unlike on Broadway, I didn't like any of the leads much. The Satine was actually the best out of all of them IMO, she still needs some time to land the wittier/sarcastic lines a bit more, she struggled with the British Accent a lot and she is waaaaay too young, which really bugged me but is nothing she can do anything about. She sang and danced it well, so overall was the strongest lead I thought. Everyone else just didn't really do it for me. The Christian is even wetter than Aaron Tveit's was and he really struggled with the big numbers in act 2. Clive Carter was pretty bland, which is a shame cos I usually like him, the Duke wasn't menacing or imposing and Jason's Pennycooke's French accent was still as bad as it was in Hamilton, only now we have two acts of it and not just one. LOL The Nini was great, but obviously it's a fairly small part and the Santiago was a fab mover, but his accent was so weird, I had trouble understanding him. So I came away a bit disappointed, though a lot of it is due to the fact that I've seen it all performed a lot stronger before, so I had been spoiled in a way. I am sure they'll all improve (hopefully), it's only previews after all, but my wallet is glad I didn't love it as much as on Broadway. Might try again in a couple of months to see how things have settled in. And I am sure that for the most part, people are going to love it, everyone around me definitely did. |

My first show I saw in person was Carousel and kept steaming up. Frozen, I wore contacts but still not 100%. Was losing the will. I want to wear a mask. But I want to see…. Then this … So No Fog Lens Cleaning Glasses Wipes Get them from Specsavers but I had to stick up from Amazon. Game changer. Honestly helps so much! You’re welcome  Great tip! I find the booth masks with a wire over the nose also really help stop me steaming up - but not 100%. The other thing I find helps is washing your glasses lenses in hot soapy water, letting them dry naturally and then polishing with a micro fibre cloth. ANY TIME! I clearly was writing on my phone as typos galore, glad you made sense - thanks for your advice too! x |

I clearly was writing on my phone as typos galore, glad you made sense - thanks for your advice too! x Thanks for all the tips everyone, it really wasn't me trying to shirk wearing a mask, I am super cautious about that, but genuinely as I am quite badly visually impaired and I would literally not see a thing so would actually be pointless going, however I have ordered some anti-fog wipes and also, VERY handily have found a couple of contact lenses in the back of the cupboard I can take and put in if I need to, which would solve the issue. Appreciate the tips and thanks for giving the full review in the one above this, really good to hear, I have heard a few say that the leads really don't have any chemistry, am just glad I didn't pay a huge amount for this if that is the case, but I missed it on Broadway, so happy just to get to see it. |

I'm a little bit surprised we have more posts in here about masks and stopping glasses fogging up than we do reports back from the show? I thought a lot more board members would have seen this during it's first week?

Judging by the amount of the bows/megamix clips on YouTube they are allowing this to be filmed as the clips are several minutes and in full and filmed quite clearly so not undercover filming.
The set look great and one clip is from the circle and shows all the walkways and a very excited Audience, one clip has the sound of a very excited woman screaming every few seconds which makes you glad you were not there that night.
Possible like alw Cinderella the preview bows are allowed to be filmed for publicity and then stopped when the show opens. Does sent confusing signals

I got there 30 minutes before the show and that was plenty of time. |

Back from this, there was lots to love but I felt something was missing somehow? Gorgeous sets/costumes and production, but I found the lead's voices a little underpowered. Not all their fault as it's predominantly pop music covers which don't really call for the big MT voice.
The sheer number of songs had the crowd going mad (plenty of good natured groaning every time another song was dropped in) but it also meant it felt quite flighty and disjointed. The thing that makes it unique is also its undoing!

Thanks for all your comments previously. I tried the no fog wipes and they worked brilliantly, I kept my mask on throughout and saw the entire show!
Now onto the show, set and staging and ensemble is amazing. I cannot praise that enough, however the leads for me were just about as bland and wooden as you could get. If I didn’t know any better I’d say IRL a they hate each other as there is zero chemistry. It was bordering on hamming so badly it felt like the recording the talking scene in singing in the rain.
By the time it got to the end, I had to stop myself laughing as it was bordering on pastiche.
However, I did enjoy it, the ensemble was stunning and a definite hey to The Duke (who should be Christian - I would totally let the Duke have his wicked way with me and throw Christian into the Senne, what a wet weekend he is, and also Harold, both played very well and with some presence.
I agree with some others that it feels like something is missing, for me, the actual core of the story, the love story, is utterly unbelievable because of the leads.
I’d recommend seeing it but not at full price….

Just get there 15 minutes before It said on my ticket in bold, and had a reminder in the email to check entry times on ticket...I'm not sure why, because I ended up arriving just before 2 and the auditorium wasn't even open until just after 2! There is some ensemble activity on stage about 10-15 mins before the show starts, but the majority of people didn't take their seats until that. |

This means that Tanisha will probably have a set schedule where Adam is more of a "Standby"?
Do we know what performance(s) Tanisha will do each week?

ST I haven’t seen anything about a Satine performance schedule yet. It’s become apparent in the last few days that Adam Gillian is a swing, along with being the 1st cover Christian, so it’s interesting that they’ve given him the “Walking Cover” title but yes, it implies he’ll just cover absences rather than set performances. |

There’s a post on Reddit showing the seat a lottery winner was given for the Broadway production. Only a tiny part of the stage is in view and the rest is completely covered - it’s easily the worst seat in the theatre. I hope the West End lottery seats are better!
