Had a look through the season brochure over the weekend to determine what to book for, noticed there is very little overlap between new and old shows at the Minerva and Festival Theatre. Was looking at Hedda Tasman and Macbeth an there is only one Saturday where you can see both and it was the same for Plenty and Deep Blue Sea. Maybe it only affects the combinations I would want to see but a longer offset gives plenty more opportunity to mix and match. It's annoying that they don't still have the two shows in rep over in summer in BOTH theatres. In July/August 2010 for instance, you could have seen any of 42nd Street, The Real inspector Hound/The Critic, Pygmalion & The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists over a few days.

I was looking at the same as im travelling down from Birmingham and has to be a double header to justify the faff. So im planning Plenty/DBS in June and then Oklahoma /8H in August. The last one i am v intrigued about, casting will be interesting!

I agree but those days seem to have gone.

Reasonably painless, 400 in the queue at 9:00 and plenty of seats available for the days I wanted, two, 2 play days
- Plenty - The Deep Blue Sea
- Macbeth - Hedda Tasman

I got two double headers : Plenty and DBS. Plus Oklahoma and 8 Hotels. Im particularly intrigued by the last named. Will they cast from across the pond?

OK for me, too, despite starting at 600+ & always being full of trepidation after so many dire experiences with the NT. Got a matinee ticket for the 2 Minerva productions I wanted & midweek in case of weekend engineering work yet to be announced.

I was 485 in the queue at 9.00. I got through within 8 mins and managed to get a ticket for 8 Hotels - the only production I am really interested in this year. I'll probably get a ticket for Macbeth later on; as it is in the main theatre, I expect that will have better availability than the Minerva.

Perhaps the ease of booking today is an indication of the quality of the season?
No queue at all just now and tickets available for most things. Got an 8 Hotels ticket, my main (only?) reason for bothering, bugger only knows whether I will be available on that day and no clue as to who will be in it but it sounds fascinating so worth a punt.
On a whim, got a £10 ticket for Shadowlands, I must confess to a weakness for Hugh Bonneville, I saw the original West End production about a thousand years ago, Nigel Hawthorne and.........possibly Jane Laportaire? (Scurries off to check the web, Yes!) but have only a vague memory. The film version I seem to recall not being very good?

I saw 8 Hotels today and really liked it but cannot find a thread. Odd if no-one had posted about it since early March though I know there have been dedicated threads for other productions in Chichester this season. Nicholas Wright seems to write few plays but they're well worth seeing when he does.
