Wonder if this is addition to the long runners or potentially replacing Bank Robbery.

Replacement I hope - they’re occupying enough theatres already

Whilst it is great that they are successful, perhaps they should set up a rep theatre - so that their shows can be given in rotation rather than taking over additional theatre spaces.

They are occupying two theatres. Very well. And they can occupy another, for me. All the continued success to them i say. Wonder what form this will take?

Whilst it is great that they are successful, perhaps they should set up a rep theatre - so that their shows can be given in rotation rather than taking over additional theatre spaces. That wouldn't be a bad idea, I really like Mischief but I incline to agree that a third show would over saturation, the West End needs to have a variety of shows and not endless long runners.

Did you not catch it on ITV last night?
It's some sort of collaboration with Penn and Teller I believe.

Now this has been on national TV I suppose we're finally allowed to talk about it! This is the show that was being tried out at some of the venues of the Mischief Movie Night tour in the summer. I saw it 5 times in as many days in Cambridge, which was the first venue that had it. At that point the material being trialled was running for nearly an hour. I was told by someone who saw it later in the tour in Cheltenham that it was down to not much over half an hour there, so a lot of cutting must have gone on. There is apparently a lot going to be added too.
People worrying about them occupying too many West End theatres probably needn't worry just yet. I don't know if their plans are still the same but back in June I was told that this one isn't necessarily going to start in London.

If the prospect was of three Sondheim shows occupying theatres I think people would be saying something different. Jeanine Tesori will have two shows occupying theatres at the same time (Caroline, or Change and Violet) and lots of people still wanted 'Fun Home' to transfer as well.

I liked the TV extract as well. The only problem is that I've seen parts of that routine before in different ways. Some of it really is "old magicians' jokes" that are pretty well known. Still, if they can work up the manic improvising into a full length show, I'll be there for sure. I'm not sure it was all improvising. We had someone give their job as "maze marshal" at one of the Cambridge shows & it seems a heck of a coincidence to get a job that niche come up at random twice...

Hmm... yes... rather random for sure, LOL. Now, a seat reviewing monkey... You have got to be unique!

@theatremonkey Actually I've only watched it on my own Tivo so did have to look it up. I didn't even see it when first broadcast, as I was at TCAABR on Tuesday evening. It's the second time running I've missed a Mischief TV broadcast due to being at a Mischief show - from which can probably be deduced that I see too much Mischief Theatre!

I don’t know why but my first thought would be that this would open in Vegas? Penn & Teller live and perform there, it’s seen as the home of magic. This might offer the Strip something a bit different.

According to today's Guardian this has been confirmed as the second show in Mischief's residency at the Vaudeville Theatre - previewing from December. Tickets on sale on Friday.

That doesn't surprise me. I think it will suit a limited run at that time of year.
ETA: Having now found the article, from the paragraph about the different types of magicians it looks like they have indeed added a number of new acts compared to last year's try-out as only the first 2 acts on the list were in that.
