A co-production between Theatr Clwyd and the Menier Chocolate Factory has been announced to run in Mold from 15th-27th April 2019. Presumably this will also run at the Menier either before or after the dates at Theatr Clwyd? More info for the Mold run at www.theatrclwyd.com/en/whats-on/orpheus-descending.

Seems to have disappeared from the TC site now?

Not often done, so this will be an interesting one. The turn of the millennium at the Donmar was the last major London production wasn't it? There was a Royal Exchange production about five years ago too.

Looks like they may have jumped the gun with announcing this. It was confirmed during the season launch event there would be a co-production with the Menier but they didn't reveal at the time what that would be. I guess that once Fiddler is underway the Menier will announce this themselves.

Bumping this as tickets are on sale for the Theatr Clwyd run. This Menier/Theatre Clwyd co-pro is directed by Theatr Clwyd’s Artistic Director Tamara Harvey (Home, I’m Darling).
Open Dress tickets are a steal at a £5!

Presumably that £5 is only a bargain if you live near enough to the theatre that the travel (and possible accommodation) costs wouldn't completely negate any perceived saving you made buying the ticket.

Oh right. I thought you were implying that only local residents could buy the £5 tickets, which is not the case.
Well to be fair if your able to consider different performances (which I was) being able to go to the Open Dress instead of the following night, or the week after, traveling from Manchester it still does work out a steal compared to the £16, £22, £28 tickets.

Having never seen or read the play, I'm intrigued by this. And hellooo to Seth Numrich!

And hellooo to Seth Numrich! He's delightful and a terrific actor too. He was in 'Sweet Bird of Youth' at the Old Vic with Kim Cattrall and her red Nancy Reagan wig and never laughed once at her.

Saw this last night at Theatr Clwyd. Superb production, great performances from all of the cast. Excellent development of the leads throughout the first act in particular. Simple set. Some use of the N-word which drew a few sharp intakes of breath from our audience. Completely full house. Well worth seeing.

Tennessee Williams, along with Eugene O'Neill, has long been on my "Never Again" list but given the reviews from Theatr Clwyd and the frankly astonishing offer (£10 seats at the Menier?!) on @theatremonkey's site, I've succumbed. Going to a matinee, given the length, and if it's too gloomy for me I have Ain't Misbehavin down the road in the evening to cheer me up.

Thanks for the tip off on the £10 tickets! Was going to go for a £20 TodayTix rush ticket for tonight but snapped one up from the monkey instead.
