Very sad news indeed... he lived a long and successful life and was a great asset to the entertainment community. He will be sorely missed. I am guessing (as it hasn't been announced exactly the details) that the cause was old age, being that he was 85... at least he died peacefully surrounded by family and love. RIP

Sat behind me at Mandy Patinkin in Jan 2009, wife nattering on and him making that funny burbly noise, recognised his voice. Felt I needed to slide down in my seat so he could see over my head.

'andles. For forks. I had the chance to see them on stage and it was so wonderful to see them doing their stuff in person. Both missed now, goodnight from them.

Must have been horrible being the straight man. If I was Ernie Wise or Ronnie Corbett I would have said the catch phrase first.

MND is a bugger.
Farewell to Ronnie, his monologues were perfectly delivered and always perfectly crafted in the writing as well.
