Mystic Burly predicts that it will be available on 17th October. Totally agree, they want bums on seats paying a premium at the cinema, once that cash cow is home and dry they will release the DVD.

Seats are indeed a premium at the cinema. I've just paid almost as much for one in Manchester as i did for my (limited view) seat at the final performance

Finally booked my cinema tickets today, more than i'd usually pay for the cinema or for my car insurance...but I'm sure I will love it either way!
Taking a friend with me who knows nothing about the show at all which excites me, love seeing new people enjoy a show I love!

When I ordered it they only showed a dvd but on Amazon Germany they are booking a dvd and a Blu-ray. So cancelled my dvd and will wait and see if a Bluy-ray turns up on Amazon UK.

I said the same thing. Different show but I'm going to see the tour of Funny Girl in Bradford next year and the cheap seats (with my £2.50 senior discount) come to £25.50 each. Saw Miss Saigon in the cheap seats and it cost about £28, the cinema edition is £15.75 per ticket.

A student ticket to see Miss Saigon at my local cinema is £18, which is more than I paid (£13.50) for my ticket to see the actual performance they filmed!

Think this is definitely worth the price to see it in the cinema... DVD will be fab, but the big screen/surround sound experience will be on another level. I was lucky enough to be there for the show itself (as were many in this thread, I see) and IMHO the 'gala' finale is worth the ticket price, let alone the show itself.

This seems to have disappeared from Amazon. Does anyone know why?
This is indeed a lot of money in the cinema. Contemplating whether to go or not.

I ordered the Bluray of the show when it first appeared on Amazon UK. It then disappeared but it still in my orders as arriving on 24th October. It is also available for Pre-Order in iTunes.

Booked to see this at the cinema! I will enjoy re-living my several visits to the Prince Edward Theatre. Love this show and I will enjoy the big screen and big sound from a close up perspective!

Tour on sale to Curve members now ,general sale Monday.
Be interested to see if there is a lot of recycling the West End cast for the tour, giving covers lead roles on tour.

I've ordered the DVD, for the cost of the cinema, it just seems more cost effective and release date is so soon after. That said, if the date is pushed back I will be very disappointed.

I notice the DVD and blu-ray include the documentary The Heat Is Back On, which I had been considering buying separately anyway, so that's a nice bonus!

The DVD and Blu-ray are available again for pre-order on Amazon. Happy to see it's back on sale - and down from £21.99 to £15, too!
