 I'm very much looking forward to seeing this! The prospect of a brand new musical, not formed from an artist's greatest hits or adapted from a film is a rarity these days. Such a fabulous cast. Bring it on St. James theatre! |

Beside Dean John Wilson and Daniel Boys I'm especially forward to seeing Stephane Anelli on stage again.

I've gambled on a £15 seat later in the run. I'm row D, so hopefully that will save me from some of the problems I've had sitting in the front row of the St James.

I'd be interested to know what issues might be expected in the front row (which seems to be Row C for this particular production) at the St James. I was planning on booking this over the weekend and the front row seemed the best place given the recurring complaints about leg room elsewhere at the St James (which at six foot four would obviously be an issue for me). Really like the sound of this show though and happy to support new musical theatre. If only something new was being given a chance at the Phoenix instead of Guys and Dolls! |

Once I sat in the front row of the St James and had ALL THE LEG ROOM IN THE WORLD because the stage was on the same level as the front row. But whenever the stage has been higher than the front row, I've found that to have the worst leg room of all. I hope for your sake the absence of rows A and B will render that a non-issue for you!
Otherwise, issues are mostly items of furniture or set blocking your view, with the occasional rogue bit of lighting making it painful and difficult to see things when you're sat too far round to the side.

Oh meatballs. My seat is on the front row, on the corner of the stage, plus I'm too, vertically blessed. I suffer terribly with poor legroom therefore. Right this is my first posting on the new site so hope it works for me. I cant find anything for this musical on here, but I am sure a thread was started on the theatreforum site. So has anyone booked?
I just nabbed a couple of £20 preview seats (back row for this) got a bad knee so needed an aisle seat due to the lack of legroom at the theatre so this was the best I could do. I am really looking forward to this mainly due to the cast. Even if its rubbish I will have Dean, Daniel and Simon to look at all evening. |

I doubt that artists of that calibre would have signed up to appear in rubbish! The trailer on the St James site looks promising anyway. I'm just glad that a completely original musical is getting a proper platform. Anyway in answer to your question Alece10, if you look back at the Miss Atomic Bomb thread on the old forum, I think quite a few of us have already booked to see it.

I've gone for a front-ish aisle; I think the St James is rubbish for those with knees! And agree with Upper Circle of the Palladium, had free tickets for I Can't Sing and was almost in tears by the interval - thankfully was able to move to other empty seats (!) or I'd have left. Ditto with St James and 3 Lions last year.

Ha! You're right there (about the handsome men)!!! Interesting to see Catherine Tate doing another musical too. I didn't catch her in 'Assassins', but heard that she was really good in it. I'm a huge fan of her TV stuff,so that's another big tick for me.

Her forte is her comedy acting which is brilliant |

Found this trailer video via The Stage website. Gobsmacked to learn that this show is based on real life events that happened in and around Las Vegas in the 1950s (you literally couldn't make this stuff up).

Before anyone asks, I got a tweet today from Gabriel Vic; no cast recording.
I have tweeted back asking would that to change if the show was running well and there was a demand for it.

Previews start for this show next week. Elaine Paige played the full version of the title song (the catchy one in the video) on her show last Sunday. Sounded great - very funny lyrics too. i'm really intrigued by the subject matter - finally a new musical that isn't about a group of twenty somethings trying to 'find themselves' in a big city ('Lift'. 'Ordinary Days and almost everything written by Kerrigan &Lowdermilk come to mind). It's been quite a while since I've seen an original British musical that I've really enjoyed, so fingers crossed for this one.
