Ok I'll shush about this now but I must admit that the trailer for this with Dolly on the blower to them all in what looks like Brookside Close made me laugh. It is something else. Camp heaven.

I hope the second NT play scheduled for the Piccadilly is a bit more interesting than Curious, mrbarnaby!

If people are that pissed about the two girls, just focus on Natalie and pretend the other two aren't there. Thats what I'll be doing!

Poor musical theatre "star" Samira wanting to go into Love Island to boost her career, only for another contestant from a previous series to get cast as a lead in a musical at the same theatre. There must be a job going for you at the Daily Mail.

To be honest, Brian Conley is the cast member I’d least like to see in this. I don’t think I ‘get’ him. Anyways, it’s a completely candy floss piece so I’m sure it’ll be enjoyable enough. The launch video was pretty good; Dolly is still a force of nature.

This announcement does nothing for me. Theatre is business at the end of the day and this show/casting is obviously intended to get bums on seats and drinks sold rather than break ground.

Very underwhelmed by this- not really interested in seeing the show and the casting does nothing for me. Hope I'm proved wrong and audiences love it but it's a bit tedious to be honest IMO

It’s announcements for a show like this that I wish Parsley was still around. I’m sure they would have a good rant and rave about the state of UK theatre. It’s almost like a red rag to a bull. Light the blue touch paper and stand well back for the comments.
Personally, I’m bound to get a ticket at some point. Ok, it could be a bit naff and cheesey, but its Dolly Parton, what isn’t there to love?

I didn’t expect this announcement to garner so much negativity. I remember seeing the touring production, going in with virtually no expectations and was blown away. I loved this show and booked a few more times on that tour. I thought the story was great (as is the movie) and the songs works so well, and that cast was great. I’m not completely convinced by this casting yet but will hopefully see it with an open mind. I just hope they have the most up to date Egotistical Bigot song as I loved that and it’s not in the original version (cast recording) or amateur productions I’ve seen. I’m looking forward to a really fun show.

I saw this in an AmDram production last year and apart from my friend being excellent as the sleazy boss I was underwhelmed, none of the songs were memorable beyond the title track and I love Dolly hologram but I felt it didn't provide a different take on the film.
I know there is a market and the west end will give it gravitas the am dram didn't but it feels like a stale announcement sadly.

I won't 'cos I'm sure it's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time - again. Yes, Curious Incident is booked into the Piccadilly oh for goodness sake...this only left London recently and has been on tour! Surprised it’s coming back especially to a huge musical theatre not a playhouse. Glad 9-5 is a limited run. Casting is interesting. Hoping Mean Girls opens after this around autumn 2019.

Does anyone have front row tickets for the '9 to 5' musical in London? If so, please get in touch as I would really like to buy two seats.

I was just thinking if this is a limited run do u think this may tour again afterwards I can see them putting "Direct from the West End" on the posters for this. I can see the tour staring in October or early 2020 at least

Does anyone know what day the opening/press night is? Thanks Tuesday looks promising based on the gap in available tickets and hike in top price tickets.

So Amber basically got the role for a TV show?
Frustrating.

Genuine conversation just overheard at Theatre Cafe.
"9 to 5 is going to the Savoy isn't it?" "yeah, with Natalie McQueen" "bless her, she's better than that but there you go"
😂😂
