The Daughter-in-Law by DH Lawrence

The Arcola Theatre, Dalston, recently staged The Daughter-in-Law for several weeks and it was much praised. The play is to return early in 2019, with booking opening in a couple of weeks. If you like something interesting and well acted, you might like this early play of Lawrence's. Characters set in a coal mining community speak a dialect that is nonetheless fairly easy to follow, so don't be deterred. It is a drama about marriage, social class, industrial conflict and the pressures on family life. It's the work of someone who seems to have known what it was he was writing about. If this involves the same cast as in May-June, it'll be done well.

The great reviews tempted me but it wasn't - and still isn't - that long since I saw a great production at the Orange Tree, so I didn't want to flog to Dalston to see another so soon. Had hoped this might transfer to somewhere more accessible, eg Trafalgar Studios, but no. I do go to the Arcola and even have their "Passport" but it's a very slow and complicated journey by public transport from where I live.

So did anyone here see the Orange Tree version, please? And if so also this one, to compare the two?
