Opening in Sydney in 2020
Sara Bareilles tweeted a response to a fan questioning when the show will come to London: "We are working on it my dear! We are hopeful for a home very soon! London is so high on our wish list... we just need a theater! (turns out it's very useful for a show) It's not because we don't want to be there! I promise!! Thank you for your passion!"

I have to admit that I've not been altogether bothered much by whether 'Waitress' comes to London or not before now but the more I've seen of her lately, Sara Bareilles just seems so delightfully lovely that I hope it does now just for her (whether I go to see it or not).

I listened to the OBC recording and wasn't particularly impressed by it, but if this transfered to London and Jessie Mueller were a part of it, I'd pay for a ticket. I've been watching some clips on YouTube and she's f*cking incredible.

I've recently become a bit in love with her, just because she does seem delightfully lovely. The musical itself seems a nice piece of sweet (pardon the pun) theatre but not one I've ever felt inclined to rush to. However for a nice mix of her own music/her adorable quirky nature and music from Waitress I highly recommend this concert she did when the album came out...

Piccadilly would be ideal. I don’t think it’s the Savoy because hey mentioned they’re awaiting an available Theatre and with Dreamgirls closing in Aman this makes me believe there’s something already planned there.

I wonder if somewhere like The Gielgud would work? It’s a shame Thriller is clogging up the Lyric as that’d be a good option as well

Erich Bergen (he's playing Dr. Pomatter on Broadway) was doing an instagram live and someone commented about Waitress coming to London and he replied "I think it's coming next year".

If you think of musicals the size of a Lend me a Tenor/Half A Sixpence playing some of these smaller houses then I could see Waitress there.

Saw this on Wednesday and was not quite as taken with it as I thought I might be. Don’t get me wrong, I still had a nice time, but It was my least favourite show of the 4 I saw - and for a couple of reasons.
I really like Sara Barellis and think she’s written a lovely score for the show. But the book just felt a bit thin. I haven’t seen the film so don’t know if that’s why, but it just didn’t feel like it had much substance to it at all. Also, I wasn’t actually impressed by anyone in the cast. I thought Katherine McPhee as Jenna was average at best (I know she’s got a lot going on right now so that might be why). She just seemed very inexpressive... didn’t really take to anyone else in the cast - although I thought the guy who played the doctor was quite good.
Still, the audience loved it. Laughed a lot, and standing ovation at the end (naturally). Oh, and whoever has made the choice to sell pie pre show and in the interval is a genius. The theatre smelt like heaven. Great business decision!
⭐️⭐️⭐️From me.

It's an easy to watch show that isn't completely brainless. I like it enough, and think the score is terrific. La McPhee is known to have dead eyes, and I think the botox and fillers might have something extra to do with it. I'm looking forward to hearing about Nicolette Robinson, the first woman of color to play the role.

Really hope this isn’t just getting people’s hopes up and it is going to come to London soon. I’d absolutely love to see this show

It gives hope to others with limited skills. So Katharine, what first attracted you to the four times married, multi millionaire composer David Foster?

I'm in a delusional mode and I really think it could be about a West End transfer I think it must be. The whole “Keep calm and carry on” brand is typically British. So excited!

I'm trying to keep calm myself, as it could be an announcement about anything, but it DOES sound very promising! 💕
