UK cast recording required...or KMP sings ‘Waitress’ EP...or KMP moves into our spare room and rehearses hourly. So wonderfully pure of voice and refreshing in these days of affectation.

Seriously? MT stars are always fulfilling marketing obligations during their theatre runs. It's not like they all sit at home each day until 6.30pm not speaking. And she was there to promote Waitress primarily so I assume this was something set up by producers rather than them having a problem with it! 🙄 Marisha was on Talk radio a couple days ago, and Katharine and David were at Ticketmaster last week etc etc. The month Waitress was in previews all the cast were rehearsing during the day AND doing 8 shows a week, so I don't see any problem with performers appearing on a chat show or two during the day. That's given me a chuckle. I like the idea of being able to sit in peace and quiet gulping Throat Coat until your chauffeur comes to drive you up to the stage door. Some stars will cut down what they say or are put on vocal rest. I've even heard people say at stage door that a star will meet the fans but won't talk as they are on vocal rest. Stood outside or around fans is often avoided if a star is on vocal rest often which makes sense. I was once talking to a 70's pop stars tour manager who took stuff inside for the star to sign as it was a cold day, the star was perfectly healthy but apparently the cold weather could affect his singing voice slightly. Talking he'd be fine but singing it could make a slight difference.

I LOVE THESE VIDEOS!!!!
One of these performed on TV would help, said it once and will continue to pretest it until it happens! This show does deserve at least a year in the WE!

Interestingly, in the next booking period (opens Monday), they are taking out the side stalls seats, and replacing them with authentic "American Diner" booths. You will be able to order pies during the show from "waitresses" and enjoy them while watching, is the idea. Looks like the ones nearest the stage will be Band A price, the ones with a better view "premium." Not bad as they are including a voucher for a pie with each ticket. I also heard that one show a week will be a sing-a-long version, with the waitresses for the booths leading the crowd to make sure everyone joins in.

I feel sorry for the poor ushers working on the new "pie fight nights" every Saturday evening. "Grab yourself a pie at the interval and find it a soft place to the land in the face of one of your fellow audience members."
I wonder which flavour is best when air-borne?

I thought you meant Siobhan Dillon, the rightful West End Jenna. (regardless of whether she auditioned, wants the part etc).

Email from ATG has come round offering free upgrades to the next ticket price band, so guess they’re finally discounting.

Email from ATG has come round offering free upgrades to the next ticket price band, so guess they’re finally discounting. I just received the email too. Seems to be a similar deal to what Time Out were offering, except you can choose your own seats. Valid Mon-Thurs for performances until 19th October, if booked before 21st April.

The link doesn't seem to work but I'm guessing Sara is taking over from KMP from end May.Siobhan would be great in the role but doesn't she live in America now or is at least based over there currently.

I think the link not working is intentional. It's April 1st. I had wondered if it was that but Sara taking over in London is feasible and not an obvious spoof, it could have been another actress listed for example. A total spoof IMO would be something like Gemma Collins and Arg rotating as Tracey and Enda in Hairspray.

The whole point of good April Fools is that they aren't entirely obvious... Could almost say it is false news. If you want to use the terminology du jour then yes, but proper April Fools have always been exactly that - they need to be sufficiently plausible to get many people to believe them.
