Thrilled about Marisha, David and Laura. I think the only thing with Marisha is, I know Becky is a fairly big role in the show, but she has been used to being centre of attention in London with Dreamgirls and Color Purple, so I hope she can restrain herself slightly with this one. But that said, I love her and she can do it all!

Also of note is the fact the site lists Josie, not Joe - but then one of the ensemble tracks says u/s Joe... (unless what's there is placeholder text only I guess). It’s back to saying Joe now, maybe it was a mistake. This cast is amazing, I really hope it can stay afloat without any names though!

Can I start some dream-casting off and throw some votes in for Joanna Francis and Danielle Steers. Thanks. Also Marisha Wallace would obviously be fab but I can't see her sticking around after Dreamgirls closes. I’m shipping Marisha for the role of Becky in Waitress when it happens here. I’d love for us to keep her here. Edit: Urban dictionary has informed me that my use of the verb “shipping” is wrong here. Millennial fail. Taken from the Color Purple thread - called this in August! 😁 Marisha said on Instagram today that she auditioned for the role on Broadway two years ago but didn’t get it despite making it far. This cast is shaping up fantastically. Now all I need is for Rebecca Lock to get Heidi Hansen in DEH and I’ll be overjoyed!

I wasn’t especially interested in this production but then I had a video of Katharine McPhee singing ‘She Used To Be Mine’ retweeted onto my timeline & it was so moving; now I feel like i need to get a ticket asap!

Whoever said Marisha owes her London career to Ruth Brown is SO correct...
Is Ruth still busking? I hope she does something fabulous soon. The way the whole was handled was just plain wrong...

I don't know if I'd owe it to Ruth. I'd say more Casey for already having a working relationship with her. It just by chance that the casting directors cast someone who couldn't handle the role, but luckily they realised before putting her onstage. I hope she gets her chance to shine in a more manageable role soon.

Oh lovely. I've always thought David Hunter was the person you called if you wanted Daniel Boys but with more hair. J'approve. Also Danny is bit busy wearing his best M&S jumper in their ads (But also lol yes)

What do we reckon to the chances of Cassidy Janson taking over as Jenna once McPhee finishes her run? I think the role would be perfect for her - trying to decide whether to take the mother for Christmas or wait until the summer (it it survives until then!) and as she’s a massive Cassidy fan, plus I believe she was mentioned at some point with regards to this - so many things to consider!

Do we think they’ll be dayseats for this? Wondering whether to ask for it as a Christmas present and fork out expensive amount of seats or dayseat sometime in February...for some reason feel like there’ll be quite a few offers

Super happy about Marisha and Laura but completely underwhelmed with the choice of David Hunter as Dr P. Does anyone think they might have him be English? Also, I know size shouldn’t be an issue but I feel he’s too short for Dr P when Katharine McPhee is pretty tall. I'd say it's less a case of height, more if he can hit all those high notes! Are you serious here people? David was one of the Superstar finalists. And he sang Once and Kinky Boots scores, which seem more complex and demanding for my ears. Also he is quite tall. Not "Oliver Tompsett tall" maybe, but "taller than average"-tall. Or he can use his Kinky Boots shoes, they're probably still somewhere at the Adelphi...

I liked David Hunter in both Once and Kinky Boots. I'm sure he will be able to handle the Waitress score

These people were chosen from auditions with the creative team being present, I don't think Sara would choose someone who wouldn't be able to sing her score

I love him. Wish he could return to London to do the West End production at some point (if the show survives its first year).

They should come to the West End after Katharine is done, it will definitely boost ticket sales.

They’ll probably just announce the whole ensemble now, rehearsals probably start after Christmas don’t they? Maybe they’ve got a slight name as Joe (or Josie).

The more they constantly tease news the less I'm caring, if it's casting just put it all out there now

It will be an announcement about an announcement about a full cast announcement. They are so annoying. Yawn.
