Just heard a radio advert for this - an incredibly annoying american lady talking about the show with some music in the background. Then it mentions Sara's name and plays 'I'm not going to write you a love song'. Surely that's a slightly confusing thing to do - will people expect that song to be in the show? Generally made me cringe as it was all far too cheesy and american and not at all anglicized!

*yawn*
Just get on with it. This isn't building anticipation. It is just tedious.

I’m certainly still very keen to hear who I’m watching on stage in March. I don’t even particularly care what their original country of residence is. The only thing that concerns me is how well they will do the job.

^ And, to add... after a crappy few weeks at work it’s news like this that’s just what the doctor ordered (no pun intended).

Who actually thought that the announcement of an announcement was a good idea?
(I remember when the first Katharine rumors appeared there was a Jason Mraz rumor as well. I really hope it ends up being true.)

The posters are up on the Tube and they just have Katharine mentioned, so I don't think any of the others will be "names"...

Marisha Wallace has posted on Instagram insinuating that something exciting is happening tomorrow. I really want it to be this. Not that my hopes are high or anything...

I think it will be Marisha, I don’t know I can just “feel” it, you know when you just have a feeling?

She'd be a great Becky. I can completely see her getting the role and she would be fabulous. It would be nice to see her getting a full 8 shows a week too. And with the rumours once again of Dreamgirls doing Broadway next season, she could easily do a six month/year run in time for that too!

So I saw Waitress on Broadway when I was on holiday in New York earlier this year and Katharine McPhee was a really fantastic Jenna. She gave a really moving performance that the audience ate up and her voice sounded incredible singing Sara’s score, so I personally totally get why they would pick her to originate the role over here if they weren’t going to pick a British ‘star’ - may as well go for someone they know can do the job and do it well. And she’s very marketable. That said, do I think Waitress will succeed over here? I hope so but I’m not sure it will. It’s not based on a recognisable movie, and the Sara Bareilles connection won’t be the draw it is in the States. My biggest concern is why the heck they picked the Adelphi theatre, which just seems way too big for a show like Waitress. It’s pretty much 50% bigger capacity than the Brooks Atkinson on broadway. I’m not sure what the thinking was with that, because to my mind Waitress suits a much more intimate theatre.

Christine Allado is playing Dawn. Nah, just a feeling, but it is definitely a possibility.

Marisha reads too young as Becky. I feel that Becky needs to be older than Jenna, one whose had a relationship last for a while and has been through ups and downs with her marriage. Her song would then make sense when a younger and less experienced Jenna judges her for her actions.

I loved Natasha Yvette Williams in the role when I saw it on broadway and she played it older. I’m not sure how old she actually is irl.

Marisha Wallace is fantastic! She would be a great Becky. I was hoping for Oliver Tompsett for the Doctor... but I think from what I’ve gathered rumblings at stage door for a Kinky Boots the other night it’s David Hunter and then Laura Baldwin as Dawn. No idea for the others, Would be interesting to see who Ogie is too, that part was great when I saw it.

But when you say "rumblings" is that just random fans talking amongst themselves or bits of info from cast or people who seemed to know what they were talking about or...

Oh wow I don’t know why I hadn’t thought about Laura as Dawn but she’d be perfect casting. I loved her in Eugenius
