Any opinions on Lucie Jones's acting? I hadn't heard of her so I looked her up and she got her start on X Factor as far as I can tell so was just wondering about her capabilities.

I saw her in Legally Blonde and she was great. She is perfect for this role.

Oh I’d love to see Lucie in this. Saw her in Rent and LB and she’s just fabulous. Not sure I can justify another London trip to see this show again but I know she’ll be perfect for the role. Good luck to her from a fellow welsh girl!

The least surprising casting news ever but congrats to Lucie! 😆 She’s got a fab voice and I’m sure she’ll be fantastic. A small concern is she’s maybe a bit young to me to be Jenna but maybe that’s just because they’ve always tended to cast actresses who are mid to late thirties, and there’s nothing to suggest Jenna can’t be younger, especially as it’s clear that Jenna has been with Earl from a young age.
Also having a major cast change as the summer tourist season starts is also a good opportunity for Waitress to do some fresh new marketing.
Does anyone know if Jack McBrayer is staying on also, or if he finishes the same date as Kat?

Great news for Lucie! I just wonder how she'll fair- KMP is amazing, I just hope Lucie can live up to it. As agreed she's on the younger side, but I don't think it'll harm the show.
Will be excited to hear some reports of what she's like when she starts- anyone know what date that is?

Can we all just take a moment to remember... Nowhere has actually officially announced Lucie Jones taking over 😆 We all know it's basically happening, but even that programme from tonight doesn't say "Lucie will be joining the cast of Waitress, taking over the role of Jenna from..."
Just saying! 😅

Just saying! 😅 She’s clearly gonna be the next Jenna though! 😄 It’s not like they just plucked her off the streets and were all “can you sing SUTBM? Okay, you’ll do!” I gotta say though, I feel a little bad for Sarah O’Connor as Kat’s understudy that she didn’t get to perform! 😩 😄 I get why they didn’t have Kat do it and disappoint the Waitress ticketholders. But Kat’s not missed a performance yet and so it could be that Lucie starts as the next Jenna without Sarah (or Olivia) ever having played her! That’s gotta suck a little lol! Unless they do what they always seem to do in NYC, which is have the understudy perform for a week or two before the new Jenna starts?

With the recent announcements about Dame Lyn Paul and Miss Ball headlining some big name shows it's lovely to see another UK Eurovision entrant leading a musical in London's glitzy West End.
Bravo Lucie. Or "iechyd da" as I'm sure they say in downtown Llandudno.

Would love to see Sarah as Jenna tonight- I think she'll be amazing in the role! And she looks the part too, like others have said I do think Lucie could read a little young.

Kat and Jack on The Sara Cox Show today ITV at 8.30am. I saw this and chuckled when Sara said that she’d seen the show a few days ago and that Jack McBrayer gives hope to people who cannot sing that they could one day be in a musical 😂

If it is Lucie then she'll be rehearsing very soon as Kat lives in just over a month. Lucie is 28 now so a bit younger than Kat who is 35 I think. But in similar costumes and right make up they wouldn't look that much of an age gap.
Lucie has always been very good in everything I've seen her in, so hope she goes well if it is her.
