The only thing was that during the duet with Deloris towards the end she literally just stopped singing and went "blimey this is getting rather low isn't it" and Sandra Marvin was in hysterics. Is this the new fake ad-lib to replace Jennifer Saunders comment about being “pitchy”? I think so, Lesley Joseph did the same comment about it being low when I saw it at Curve's press night last week.

Caught this during the week. Lori Haley Fox was on as Mother Superior and Graham MacDuff on as Eddie; thought they were both very good, though I would have liked to have seen Lesley and Clive.
Loved Sandra Marvin (also enjoyed Alexandra on the last tour). Lizzie Bea is fabulous.
I think the show drags in places; the bar scene is just unnecessary and not the biggest fan of 'When I Find My Baby' or 'I Could Be That Guy', though the disco part is enjoyable. I noticed some dialogue changes from the last tour, probably to remove some things which could be offensive. It's a shame 'How I Got the Calling' has been reworked/replaced (as it had been on the last tour).
It's probably a 3 star show elevated by some great performances.

This was an enjoyable evening at the Hippodrome where it has a two week slot.
More broadly played than previous versions I have seen but fun and the cast seem to be enjoying it and that enthusiasm came across and was well received by the audience.
First time of seeing it where bar the two main female leads the male actors outshone the nuns. All came on full guns blazing and played any moment in the spotlight with full on gusto. The three henchmen almost stole the show with lady in the long black dress routine and Monsignor O'Hara (Graham McDuff) was certainly testing his vows of humility with a much more rounded performance in a role which normally hardly registers. but it's the full on performances this show needs and against them the nuns seemed to fade into the background a bit.
Truth said they don't have a lot to play with, they go from formal nuns to doing racey routines in about two lyric lines with complete abandonment of moral strictures and that's about all the character development they do. They did all sound great both at full throttle vocals and at the first tortured screaming howling.
All the more reason to praise the stagecraft and timing of Lesley Joseph who could have played the character up for quick laughs but actually provided the steady quiet but authoritative core to the show and at 77 is a marvel to be commanding the stage as she does. It was a really strong performance and her talent shone.
Far more enjoyable than expected, as others have said it does slow in places but if you want to see a show who's only brief is to entertain you for the night it's well worth catching on its long tour around the UK.

Sister Act are teasing a big announcement that is coming soon. Could Beverley Knight be returning to play Deloris following her run at Eventim Apollo? She is performing as Deloris at the Oliviers tomorrow.

Maybe it’s going back there for the summer. I think there’s a gap in the Tour schedule.

I think a lot of us guessed this would happen a while ago with the gap in the touring schedule. I do feel a bit bad for Sandra getting sidelined if it is Beverley but Beverley is awesome and sells tickets. I wonder if Jennifer Saunders will want to do Mother Superior again or if they’ll want to get another name, or just keep Lesley.

The Eventim has a few things scheduled through July and a couple in August - could it go elsewhere?

Ooh interesting. Is this the touring production going in or a separate production? Think that's a typo, Beverley Knight from March* to June

Looks like they’ll have to cancel the Belfast dates.

The date of the first preview has changed in the short time that the website was taken down. From 16th to 15th.

So basically, I need to book before 10th June! Sorry, never paying money to see Alexandra Burke again.

This production doesn't appeal but Beverley Knight (never seen her on stage) might be enough for me to overlook that depending on ticket prices.

Seems I’m mistaken on the having to cancel Belfast front. Manchester, York, Glasgow and Brighton are now on sale for next year the same time as the London run - so looks like they will have two productions running side by side.

Look forward to seeing this production on a stage that's far too big for it once again 😂
And before the 10th June, you actually couldn't pay me to attend after that 🤷🏻♂️

So, if the tour is happening at the same time are they going to build a second set just for London? Ir is the original west end/tour set still in storage somewhere?

We will not be getting the original west end set.
They'll build a replica of the awful touring thing they've come up with and stick that in the Dominion like they did at the Apollo - we might get an extra pew if we are lucky.
