Did anyone catch the Showtime Challenge charity show of Thoroughly Modern Millie last night? The challenge is to perform a musical with only 48 hours rehearsal (although the individual cast members have been allowed to practise on their own at home before). I thought newcomer Amy Perry was excellent in the lead role, and the wonderful Anna Jane Casey was great as always. The musical is not one of my favourites, but it was performed with gusto by the cast and considering many of them were performing on the West End stage for the first time, having only met each other on Friday evening, they put on a really good show.
