Looking at Imperium it seems that Greg Doran has a fantastic core of actors who could play in the Troilus and Cressida company at Stratford.Hope RSC casting share these thoughts .Certainly feels like ensemble.

T&C is going to be a gender balanced cast. So they can't just move the Imperium team over.
Not sure why this particular play needed to be the standard bearer for this particular battle though...

It is totally the wrong play. Cressida has to be a lone woman cast adrift amongst a group of military men, that’s the point of the play.

Is this the one with Evelyn Glennie?
I really want to see a production of Troilus and Cressida, because I've never seen it and I really like the Trojan War. I can't bear Evelyn Glennie though. No real reason, I know I'm unreasonable, but aaargh.

But the isolation and the sexual predatory stuff can be played with a man in Cressida part. I can’t believe I’ve said that. But here we are in 2018. Anyway, we have to wait and see. It is a marvellous play and very much neglected.

Hopefully we will get some casting news next month. Aren't T&C the same actors as R&J ? That's what Doran announced years ago he wanted to do.

I have booked for this play, and the cast is listed on the RSC website. Now, I know I said in the RSC Macbeth thread, that I was considering not going back to SuA again because of having to get trains from Manchester. Despite a cancelled train I still made it there in time, and got home at a reasonable hour, so I'll be going from now on!

R&J cast can't be the same as for T&C - as R&J is transferring to the Barbican making it impossible.
T&C cast is still completely shrouded in mystery - though I, for one, am looking forward to Sher give us his Cressida

Sher would actually be quite good as Pandarus but doubt that will happen.

I can also go from Wigan North Western, and get cheaper tickets on Virgin Trains than Cross Country if I book far enough in advance. It's only a short walk between New St. and Moor St. stations. The "faff" is having to go from Leigh on a bus to Manchester or Wigan and return. It makes the round trip 2 hours longer. Still, If you don't want something enough to get off your bum and figure out how to do it, then do you really want it?
