Just bumped into Ms. McQueen in the box office (lovely girl, very friendly!) correct me if I'm wrong though, she seems awfully young, she must be one of the youngest of of played Elphaba in London? Very sweet though!

So I really, really enjoyed this! I know I may be in the minority, but I had so much fun! Sure its not perfect, but its got a great score, the design is fabulous and the cast are fantastic! I personally think Kerry was sensational, she killed the vocals and I really enjoyed her acting! She must of been having an off night though, as there was no hair tucking at all! Natalie really tore it out as Hatter, giving Kerry a run for her money! She played crazy really well also special mention to the Cheshire Cat who I thought was fantastic too. I loved the costumes, really clever in my opinion. But yeah, it was a really fun and enjoyable night. And clearly the audience found it too. Upper Circle closed but the Stalls were full and most were standing at the end of the show. And the finale of Act I had applause going before it even ended! I can't wait to see it again in Richmond later in the year!

I sent my friend in the US a cheeky boot of This is Who I Am. He's very anti-Wildhorn. His response was: "Okay, so that was loud. And I guess this is who she is."

Chesire Cat? Loved him. He was the only one of the Wonderland characters save for The Mad Hatter that i cared for at all. I thought he was really good.

I don't remember much but even I saw this, I thought the Cheshire cat and the actor were both very annoying.

Isn't he supposed to be annoying?

Isn't he supposed to be annoying? Probably. I think Dom did a great job with what he was given. He was just given a dreadful character. I hated his new song

I just thought he was a great performer. Whenever he was onstage, I couldn't help but watch him, he was constantly engaging. And in a show with so much going on onsyage all the time, Dom did a fantastic job!

Natalie's understudy Francesca Lara Gordon is on tonight for The Mad Hatter! But I believe Natalie did the matinee and she sounded fantastic last night, so I assume she just got ill overnight or during the matinee.

She sounded great this afternoon. I'm gutted to have missed Francesca by one show - not that I'd have been able to go anyway, since Saturday is the one day there's no late train back to Coventry for some unknown reason.

I enjoyed it (not my first time seeing it) as much as I could focus on it, which wasn't much unfortunately. The audience around me were utterly obnoxious. I put a vent in the bad behaviour thread in the interval, and it didn't improve during act 2. If anything it got worse, since a bucket of popcorn appeared.
Sure, the show is fluffy and silly and the book could do with a lot of work, but it's very enjoyable for what it is and the cast are fabulous.

Well tonight was fun. I can't take this show seriously, because if I did I'd rip it to shreds (minus quite a lot of the score which I LOVE)
Francesca was pretty good as Hatter, although McQueen is one of the best performers I've seen in recent years so she didn't reach the level of 'madness' Nat does with it, but still good.
Kerry. Ah Kerry. I just love her. Always have, always will. Voice is fabulous, although she seemed to think everything was funny (which most of it was but there were bits I was like whaaaaa?) that said, Finding Wonderland was belted to within an inch of its life!! God that hair tucking gets annoying doesn't it! Every minute and not exaggerating. Stephen Webb was really pitchy I noticed until he sang One Knight then he was on a roll!
I just really enjoy this show. Can't help it. It's fluff. It's fun. And it's got a fantastic cast!

Saw the matinee of Wonderland today. This GIF sums up all of my thoughts... This is really... let's say, unique. It's just so bizarre. Having said that, it did keep me entertained and it was better than spending a Saturday afternoon at home. The music is really, really good; I adored the score! The cast are pretty good, however it seemed very hard for them with the material they are given. Wasn't the biggest fan of Kerry Ellis, she seemed miscast. Thought the best was definitely McQueen, she has a truly amazing voice! I'd say the root of the problems come from the book. I reckon if the book were to be changed this show would vastly improve.

One thing that I found, I was really drawn in once we hit Welcome to Wonderland. With those flowers and the cast and the craziness of it all, I just felt high the whole way though (and I wasn't high!)! And from there, I was just having a fabulous time.

Long time lurker, first time poster - so first off hi everyone!
I saw Wonderland today after falling in love with the cast recording 6 years ago and I left with mixed feelings. I knew they were working on the book but I actually missed some of the old concepts, like the Mad Hatter being an alter-ego of Alice's, as well as the little twist with Jack being the husband and them finding their love for each other again at the end of the show.
However, I did still find myself enjoying the show for what it now is - the music is possibly some of my favourite musical theatre work, with 'I Will Prevail' always standing out thanks to the original performance by Kate Shindle. I can safely say though for me Natalie McQueen stole the show, her vocals were incredible and I loved the crazy. But again, I felt like she had little character motivation without the original concept for the character being in place. With the danger she posed to Alice directly mostly gone (except for the saving the daughter) and her target instead being the Queen who we hadn't really warmed to as much as we had Alice, the stakes didn't feel as high as they should have been to really will Alice on to win and stop the Mad Hatter.
Saying that however, Kerry Ellis did a great job with the vocals; I've seen her in this, Wicked and Murder Ballad now and I can't really fault her performances. I'd love to see Rachael Wooding just to compare still. The rest of the cast did a great job, I didn't mind Jack's changes, although as soon as he said in the real world that he wanted to be a singer, I understood how this new 'through the looking glass' concept was being done. Wendi Peters was brilliant with the time she had on stage with the Queen of Hearts. It's a fun, fluffy, quite cheesy show yes, but for some reason I can't help looking for other tour dates that are close enough for me to go to.
Also just have to echo the previously mentioned bad behaviour though from this afternoon's matinee, considering how long I had waited for this show, it really did prove difficult at points to concentrate on thanks to the amount of talking, fidgeting and popcorn-eating going on around me.

If you are wanting to see Rachael and are near London, she is doing the Richmond run of the tour in August, it is actually her final performances on the tour, with Kerry closing up the tour the week after in Bournemouth! That is when I am planning on returning, in Richmond.

Anyone know which shows Kerry isn't doing in Bristol? Thanks Matinees. She only does evenings from now on. Manchester and Wimbledon were slightly different.
