Priscilla Queen Of The Desert is currently touring the UK. For tour dates, please see here: www.priscillathemusical.com/uk-tour/tickets/The role of Tick is shared between Jason Donovan, Duncan James and Darren Day, so better check before you book in case you want to specifically see one of these three actors.

Question- was this tour announced to go international? Because I just saw a commercial on Israeli television saying it's coming here in July (starring Jason Donovan) for a week. If it's true (and I guess it is as they are selling tickets) It will be the first Broadway/London/ English speaking international tour to come to Israel I believe as I have yet to see one (I could be wrong) and it's really exciting! means it could open a door to future tours stopping here which is thrilling!

It did stop in Amsterdam for two or three weeks in November, so it's definitely international already. I could see it tour to other countries where a local production doesn't seem commercially viable?

I saw this again in Liverpool a couple of weeks ago having first seen it about two years ago. I think this production was even better than I remembered. The costumes were absolutely incredible and the three male leads were fantastic especially Simon Green as Bernadette. Such a beautiful, convincing but understated performance. Maybe there are a few too many songs and not quite enough story for my liking but it's still well worth seeing. Such a fun night out!

One of my guilty pleasures is Priscilla....saw it many times during its London run. Loved the last UK tour, despite the naffness of the bus (a blingified coat hanger affair) but that hardly mattered as the costumes were fabulous and the show was a riot
Looking forward to seeing this tour

I read a review the other day, might have been on "thesitewhichdarenotspeakitsname" and Jason didn't come out if it very well at all.
I hope they've freshened up those costumes too 'cos they were looking well grubby when I saw in Manc last year with Dunc. J.

Jason's performance was fine when I saw it,his voice was much better than when I saw him in Annie Get Your Gun last year but Darren Day is taking over for a while on Monday anyway. Oh! the costumes looked fantastic from where I was sitting although I wasn't very close. I don't think they were the same as the previous tour which I also saw.

I saw this tour in Amsterdam and Liverpool and saw Jason Donovan both times. I really don't like him in the role. He didn't hit the notes (especially the low ones sounded horrible) and his voice sounded hoarse in Liverpool. Plus he over acted like hell... But the audience seemed to love him. Oh well... I'm going to see it again in Bristol and Duncan James is scheduled for those dates. I'm really looking forward to seeing him. It can only get better, right? However I love the show. And I like this tour a lot more than the last one, as the bus looks so much better and the old west end songs are back. Can't wait to see it again.

I found Jason Donovan to be the weak link in the last tour, especially against Richard Grieve's incredible portrayal of Bernadette.
It was most noticeable when Jason started 'We Belong', weak and flat, to be joined by the other two who were so much stronger, and in tune.

Hello newbie here and first post This tour has been so good I have been 5 times so far during its run. Its one of my favorite musicals. Sad news about Duncan but his current replacement Craig Ryder is excellent in the role as Tick. I thought Richard Grieve was fantastic last time but Simon Green and Adam Bailey have been fantastic this time. The better bus and awesome lighting was a major improvement on this tour. Shame its coming to an end and hope its returns again soon. My favourite Ticks in order from the UK Tour 1 Craig Ryder 2 Darren Day 3 Duncan James 4 Jason Donovan

I see that this has now been made available to amateur companies. Already 2 productions announced in Glasgow area. You wait ages for a bus and 2 come along at once.

Altrincham Garrick did it a couple of months ago and word on the street was that it was fantabulous. hulmeman.... care to comment?

They did in indeed, and it was rather amazing, with the whole kit and caboodle. It's hard to reinvent that show when stuck with those costumes but there were lots of original touches. The Garrick have done some great musicals recently. 42nd street was superb and that was totally reinvented, and a Gypsy and Secret Garden were pretty special too. Up next summer is Cats.....!

I know, but I’ve never actually got around to going for some reason. It’s only a tram ride away. Cats won’t be the one to get me there though!

Altrincham Garrick did it a couple of months ago and word on the street was that it was fantabulous. hulmeman .... care to comment? I actually saw two Priscilla's in quick succession the first at the Garrick and the second Tip Top Productions at Theatr Clwyd. Both had strong points. What does need to be said is the fact that the leads need to be so, so strong. Any weakness in acting, singing or dancing will be exposed ruthlessly. I can see a troupe of certainly three people wandering round from company to company to play the parts. Seeing two productions so close together also indicates to me that everyone on stage needs to have a back story and know who they are in a way that not many other shows demand.A side question, why has this come up now?

Jason Donovan is a producer this time around... he had said a little while ago that he was going to be involve with Priscilla again, but in a different way to before- and this what he meant! Interesting move, especially if his vocal problems are still not resolving.

Darlington Operatic Society also did a great production of this earlier this year. All the cast were fab, and the disco numbers were great fun. I would also have gone again if I could have fit it in.
