Gah, this is a GOOD couple of years to be the first cover Elphaba. Kate and Laura Harrison get/got more shows in one month than people like Jessamy Stoddart and Rebecca Gilliland got in their entire contracts.

Show stop at this afternoon's matinee due to technical problem. Despite knowing the soundtrack inside out I've never seen it before. I think the bridge has broken and won't go back into position.

Hasn’t she been on since Sunday or did Alexia come back for any shows this week? Can’t see anything online for Thursday’s show so I’m guessing Alexia came back on Thursday and is now off on holiday for the weekend. |

Kate Leiper was on as Elphaba last night (9th June, 2023).
Nicola Espallardo is on as Elphaba for both shows today (10th June, 2023).
Amy Webb had some improved attendance the last few weeks, it's a shame to see her missing again.

I just came across a piece of information that I thought I’d share. Just to show comparatively across the pond.
Maria Eife who is the understudy on the US National Tour made her Elphaba debut performance on May 20th 2023
Why am I telling you this you may be asking.
She joined the company in October 2019. Nearly four years she’s had to wait to go on.
Maybe she should ask to transfer to the West End. She’d probably be on the next show after she landed. I really do think the US producers are wondering what’s being put in our tea over here!

Alexia and Lucy both on last night and in fine voice. I was really disappointed with Popular, Lucy doesn't doesn't seem to have as much fun with it it nail the humour as much as other Glindas I've seen, but her vocals throughout the show were spot on. Alexia was superb though, had a real goosebumps moment in No Good Deed!

Alexia and Lucy were both given a show off this week (Lucy on Wednesday eve and Alexia Thursday eve) which I heard was due to west end live this weekend. Not something they’ve ever done before but probably good to give the extra time off given they had sound check for west end live during the week and west end live yesterday morning. |
