She officially left April 2022 but was back in August, September and probably some other dates I have forgotten:D
Also a fan of hers; she is great.

How was Lucie’s attendance during Legally Blonde? Another huge role that requires athletic stamina to achieve

I assume then all 4 Glinda covers are ill/ holiday. First time seeing Amy tonight. Was kind of hoping Nicola might be on but saw Laura was back so that definitely wasn’t happening. I enjoyed her portrayal. It wasn’t awful and it also wasn’t groundbreaking. Given that she’s been ill she held her own vocally I have to say. Don’t have anything really to say about Ryan. I’m looking forward to seeing Ross Harmon and hopefully want to catch him as Fiyero. I remember him from years ago from the little day seating circle from back in the day. What a full circle moment for him.

I felt like it took Amy until act 2 to really warm up… she was kind of just saying the lines for most of act 1 and she was singing quite flat during both DG and NGD. But like you said she’s been ill so probably still recovering. I need to check the actresses name but Madame Morrible was fabulous!

I need to check the actresses name but Madame Morrible was fabulous! Morrible last night was 1st cover Natalie Spriggs - one of my favourite ever Morribles.

Blows my mind when ex cast members return to a role after not playing it for years/month.
So blooming talented!

Blows my mind when ex cast members return to a role after not playing it for years/month. So blooming talented! It's impressive and of course always exciting, but is it actually fair on anyone? Presumably they won't have rehearsed with the current cast, are they currently 'fit' vocally, etc.? It's impressive they can just slot in but I don't think they should have to. I doubt the average audience member would notice anything so perhaps I'm being picky here, but have they paid to have someone just 'pop in' who hasn't played it in months?

The audience would be 99% your average audience member so if it's between that option and therefore no one really knowing any different or cancelling the performance I think it's obvious which one they'd go for? Also, no one is forcing someone to say yes to do it.

To clarify: I think it’s incredible how they do it but I agree cezbear; it’s not fair. Looking at Paul Taylor Mills and Heathers…

Amy Webb & Carina tonight!
Also thought I’d mention as it’s quite funny
People saying to people being rude to lucie which I don’t agree with anyway but just thought it was funny that most responses were “how about you try doing 8 shows a week”
I just find that funny as lucie never does 8 shows a week, I believe so far in her run she’s done about three 😂

The entire situation is bizarre.
Sadly this absence of named performers with no explanation is becoming BAU and if it’s challenged you get a social media “be kind” pile on. We had a pile on of sorts here when it became very apparent that Jessie Buckley couldn’t perform 8 shows in Cabaret.
I repeat: producers be honest and this wouldn’t be a problem.
As a side note… Lucie is either at the stratospheric point where is doesn’t matter or is at a difficult situ where her reliability is seriously in question.

Well she hasn’t got that long left now
Clearly it was just too much for her

You know who'd be a good Elphaba at some point (once she's done with Frozen)? Samantha Barks. She's been very reliable in Frozen, only off for holidays and rarely for illness. Elphaba is a much bigger role than Elsa of course, but I still think she could knock it out of the park.
Here's her on I'd Do Anything performing DG aged only 17!

She'd be fantastic, and her voice has come on such a long way, but I went to a concert of hers a couple of years ago where she was asked about Wicked, and she basically said she has no desire to play Elphaba unfortunately. Seemed strange as surely it's a big one to tick off any actress' bucket list, but she just said she wasn't interested.

I would wager Glinda and Nessa covers have been on just as much as Elphaba ones.

Which brings us back to the question of whether young performers nowadays have the same stamina levels that older generations had.
