Lauren James Ray is on for Nessa tonight so does that mean KRJ is emergency standby to the emergency standby?! That's very possible! Because I think Hayley is out of town, Gemma Atkins is in Kinky, don't know about Jemma Alexander, Jackie is in prep for the tour, Kerry is in Glasgow. Does anyone have a clue what Louise Dearman and Ashleigh Gray are up to? Is Louise in rehearsal for Side Show yet? |

And of course there's always KRJ, who used to understudy Elphaba Ah but Natalie M is out so they're a Nessa u/s down and with Laura on hols, Hannah Toy being on tour prep and Sheila Grant injured they're three lady swings down too so guess they won't be keen on bumping u/s's unless absolutely necessary?! Ooooo I'd love to be a fly-on-the-wall in Mr McCabe's office today! Fellow Ozians, we're going through frightening times. |

Emma Hatton and Natalie Andreou leaving Wicked in a shambles at the moment... Maybe slightly harsh Aidoon... I'm not sure anyone could have predicted such bad luck as having four Elphies out at the same time! If Natalie A was unwell and couldn't carry on with her contract then it's right that she left, it's no different to NDJ leaving tour early due to ill health. It's just unfortunate that Nat M and Emma both have injuries and then Laura is on holiday! |

There was a month - Oct 2009 I think - when there were so few Elphabas that Stephanie J Block from Broadway was an emergency standby. She was doing a concert here at the time!

Maybe I saw her on an off day but Gemma Atkins was the worst Elphaba I have seen! Closely followed by a possibly sick but poor Natalie Andreou.

Well, Gemma Atkins was in as emergency cover yesterday so they at least have her. I think Ashleigh Gray and Alexia Khadime might be available too. And I don't know if Kerry Ellis is still doing concerts, if not she'd be an option. And there's always KRJ. |

They need to seriously look at having an alternate Elphaba as this is getting silly. 8 shows a week is too many.

It's just very unfortunate that all 4 of the Elphabas are either ill or injured. However, the Dutch productions did have alternates. There was an alternate Elphaba, Glinda, and even an alternate Fiyero! |

Idina's voice was different for YEARS after she finished Wicked (and in the role too- starting a few months in)
I think she has a more solid technique now (in If/Then) but it is different for sure...
