Katie Rowley Jones went on Elphaba once so that's a possibility should anything happen to Michelle.

I'm sure she knows the part well enough by now given that she's pretty much a part of the Apollo Victoria architecture at this point!  Hopefully one or two of the understudies will be back tomorrow and so it won't come to that though. |

ooh. would have thought being an ensemble member down would be better than having the lead played by someone who hasn't gone on in years! although, I suppose Michelle is there for a reason and if she's been standing by for a few days they've probably been going over songs/cues/lines in preparation for this occasion! I'll happily step in though, if they run short |

Michelle last performed as Elphaba on October 31, 2013 (I know because I irritatingly missed it by one day). Conversely, Katie last performed on August 8, 2013, so they aren't too far off each other, meaning Ms Rowley Jones may be forced to climb out of the wheelchair and green up if necessary  Emma called out sick after the matinee, Natalie A hasn't been in since early June, Natalie M is off injured and Laura hasn't got much of a voice (so I'm told) so can perform in the ensemble but not really belt those F5s. |

Let's not get ahead of ourselves people, fourth cover Witch's Mother is a highly coveted and in demand role, you need to pass a series of excruciating tests just to be allowed an audition good luck with fifth cover Midwife, I hear Idina Menzel was up for it as a part of her "bold return to the West End" career move, would certainly be an award winner if she found herself a part that well respected and difficult |

The Oz Wikia says Natalie Andreou left the role of Standby Elphaba on 4 July. I know it's not an official site but why would they say that if there wasn't anything going on?

This is the ongoing thing with Wicked PR. Everything is shhhh shhhh shhhh so secretive and they really could learn a few things about engaging with their audience. All they seem to say these days is "Good News! A Z lister was at the show tonight and they got to meet the whole cast onstage". Well bully for them!

Well, if it's really the case that Natalie A has left then it makes sense for them to just have Michelle in as emergency standby when they need her, so they don't have to officially hire a new standby. |

Even with Michelle now in as S/B I'm guessing they might get someone else in too? Usually there are four Elphies in the building but with only two does that leave them at risk with Nat M and Laura both out?!
